I have never used the words "teen" or "young" to describe my site, despite the fact I started shooting/webmastering when I was 18. I don't do schoolgirl content, and I go out of my way to avoid portraying myself as super-young, when I could have gone the Little April route if I so wanted.

To see something I've created (even just something as simple as my enter/exit/members buttons and layout) being used as an example of kiddie porn really pisses me off. It would piss off any webmaster.

I would have expected better from Xbiz.

That the graphic is 100% made from a screenshot of her site?

I know it's nothing to get heated about, but she's right, they made the graphic by using a screenshot of her site, and switched the top half out.

You can even see the white on the sides, that's not a really wide scrollbar.

She's overreacting, but for any of you that don't see the resemblance, it's there.

Yes, I see it, and I agree that it's possible that the image on the laptop is an altered screencap from the OP's site. But it's been altered to the point that the average person would never recognize it, and isn't that one of the tests for violation of copyright? Assuming that the text based graphics in question are even copyrightable, which is doubtful.

Overreacting is an understatement. If I went off like this every time I found some of my code used on other web sites I'd never get anything else done. Aaliyah nailed it earlier, time is too valuable to spend it on something so trivial.

Take her site into photoshop, convert it to CYMK, you'll see it's the same.

Nice work quantum, I can't believe I stuck through 3 pages on this thread, but I knew this chic was right and bam, many people served up. The Xbiz designer is probably a vegan hater and secretly wanks it to her and this was some passive aggressive move on his/her part. (j/k) Furrygirl I think you're OWED an apology from Xbiz, that's really sloppy on their part. You could make some sort of defamation case but the damages would probably be $1. Does anyone know of any other work that this same graphic artist has done? If so it would be interesting to see if this kind of thing has happened before. We all love XBIZ of course and if this person is taking shortcuts I'm sure they would like to know.

but she's going overboard.. They didn't steal a design, they stole 3 text links that happen to be graphics.. She did not make the font herself nor can graphics like this be copy written .. yeah the xbiz designer that made this mock up (not even a real site) could've spent 2 more min and made their own work but making such a huge deal over something this small is crazy
