awesome, i liked rtandy, but part of me really wanted to see lesner win that fight. he's really upping his game fast, and knocking off big names. how long until everyone's forgot about the couture vs fedor debate and we're hearing the fans cheering for the lesner vs fedor bout? lesner is gonna be a force to wrecken with in UFC right now, I see him holding the belt for some time to come.
Damn, i'm outta the loop. lesner kicked couture's ass eh?

He pulled a stupid rookie mistake against Mir in his UFC debut and stepped right into the submission. As far as I remember he pummeled the shit out of some asian guy in his first k-1 match.
This was way back now too, haven't watched a good fightcard for a while now and I didn't even realize it until i stumbled across the fight video. .Comment

yeah he pulled a boner and got screwed. Couture owned the fight, but with a guy like lesner it just takes one hit... And thats what happened.
Lesner V. Mir 2 is coming up. We'll see how that goes.
Honestly Lesner exceeds what the UFC considers "heavy Weight" he's got like 60lbs of muscle on Couture and they're both in the same division, too big a weight difference, that wouldn't fly in smaller weights.
Kurt Angle is going to join the UFC as well, several other werstlers might as well... Not sure how that can go, but the truth is those guys are a different kind of big, and they need their own class beyond "heavy weight".
It'll all be interesting to see how things turn out.Sound Engineer ~ Graduate of Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California.Comment

way out of the loop.No doubt one may quote history to support any cause, as the devil quotes scripture.

Nothing made me happier than seeing Lesnar KO Couture and shutting up all the douche bag MMA snobs that said Lesnar had no place being in the UFC because he was a pro wrestler. Don't get me wrong, I love and respect Randy Couture, but I hate MMA snobs 100 times more. Lesnar was an NCAA wrestling champ, but because he decided to make some money and become a pro wrestler, at a time when MMA didn't pay shit, the low lives that spend every waking hour on MMA forums whined and cried that he was a phony. Never mind the fact that Don Frye, Sakuraba, Fujita, and one of the current top heavyweights in the world, Josh Barnett, all were or currently are professional wrestlers.
The only thing that would make me happier is to see Bobby Lashley go on a similar streak and also set the UFC on fire. Actually, I just love to see world class athletes enter MMA now, and piss off every fat guy or skinny geek with a BJJ blue belt...Comment

pretty much the same reason i'm happy for lesnar. at first i had that wwe wtf thing going on, then i watched his k-1 bout, and looke dinto his career in college wrestling and realized he might just be a force. and look at the guy now. comes across as really dedicated and very humble in his position.Nothing made me happier than seeing Lesnar KO Couture and shutting up all the douche bag MMA snobs that said Lesnar had no place being in the UFC because he was a pro wrestler. People also forget Lesnar had a great showing in the Minnesota Vikings training camp after he first left WWE, and was offered a spot in NFL Europe, even though he hadn't played football since high school. I have no doubt if he had his heart in it he would've eventually been an NFL player.pretty much the same reason i'm happy for lesnar. at first i had that wwe wtf thing going on, then i watched his k-1 bout, and looke dinto his career in college wrestling and realized he might just be a force. and look at the guy now. comes across as really dedicated and very humble in his position.
Bobby Lashley has similar credentials. He was also an amateur wrestling champ, albeit NAIA since he went to a small college (Missouri Valley College), and won Armed Forces wrestling championships in the Army. You can't really form an opinion on him after one fight in which he won by KO on a cut, but he is another elite athlete that I could see on the fast track to the UFC...Comment
