Dude, I'm traumatized for life.
There were parts of that movie that will be on my mind for days...

The suspense was throughout.
Good horror movie.

Was going to ask about this.

Did the do the original any justice (I always saw it as a movie that could not be remade).
Did they just focus on the revenge aspect? Did they cut the penis bitting off scene? What about the pants pissing etc?

So can I assume they focus a whole bunch on the revenge?
Was the rape long or just brutal? Though I am not sure any movie will ever make one as long as "I spit on your grave" again.

It was a good 2-3 minutes.
I kept thinking, "No they're not going to show him taking down her panties..."

then the panties came down..

Then I kept thinking.. "no he's not going to mount her..."

then it showed him mounting her..

Then I'm like, "they're not going to show him unbuttoning his pants.."

then they show it..

it just kept crossing each bar that I said, "NO way" to in my brain.

The whole theater was silent during the rape scene.

ya it looked like a good movie.. maybe I'll pick it up when it comes out on DVD.. Just picked up Transporter 3 on blue ray today..great flick

Prep yourself for original then - that was not long. Also aside from the penis issue I always felt worst part aside from intestinal stuff was the pants pissing.
PS - I would not suggest you watch I spit on your grave then.

The first one may look dumb and the acting is a bit weak. It just was brutal and very raw. Far from dumb though and for its time and even today it is fucked up.
Not sure how the remake went but the original spends most of its time, not on revenge.

ya the trailer of the original does look really dumb.. Was just watching it on Amazon. debating on watching it on demand for $2.99 or doing more work

So it is all about gore/revenge/extreme physical abuse?.... for some reason I don't find that scary..... it is certainly traumatizing to see all sorts of crazy deaths by serial killers and such but gore != horror in my book.....

Not sure about new one but old one was not about gore.
Story basically was this in super short version:
Birthday party - female friends - trip to city - score drugs - kidnap - rape - death - hideout - revenge. Toss in a dash of cops and other stuff. Hits the definition for horror very well, just not the jump out and scare you type nor the oh that is gruesome type.

Max was not sent to jail for rape, nor making rape films. Again though you too can check the out not only the film I spit on your grave, but also the legal issues and history of it.

Do not expect any super performances or groundbreaking to todays standards story lines or such. It is what it is for when it was made and that is a very brutal and screwed up story that I still think can not be redone. I would not say expect to be scared, just expect to end up feeling a bit fucked up and possibly with some moral questioning going on.
