Kicking/banning is usually futile whether it's on a message board, IRC, cams, what have you. It's instant and there's always a way around it. You're better off having a "gag" feature. If you "gag" the user, they're text doesn't show up to you or other guests, but they still see it and continue typing away thinking it's getting through. Make them waste their time, not yours.

I used to work for a commercial IRC network back in the day, and the server-wide "gag" feature was golden -- much more effective than a kick/ban/kline
