We own a Sony VAIO and an Apple Powerbook G4. The Powerbook is a much better machine and more fun to use also.

Panasonic Toughbook baby! ;)
http://www.panasonic.com/computer/no.../html/01a7.htm

But, if you buy one, you are required to buy one for me also.
hehehe

This notebook was designed for Military use for it's durability.
You can drop it and it will be unharmed. From what I remember, they are also water resistant cases. ;)

Check out the specs on it.

I currrently have a Vaio 505 series and have few complaints. I've also used IBM's for years and would highly recommend them from a durability standpoint.

I have two dell laptops Inspiron 8100 and 8200, I like them, they are a bit on the heavy side when compared to the Vaio. I want to buy a PowerBook next though. Was looking at the ToughBooks as well before I got the dells, decided to go with looks LOL. So sue me...

You will be glad you switched. My old VAIO laptop can't even boot anymore.

The Sony Vaio with the 15"+ screens are great and ours has been quite durable.
