You must get work from MojoHost, because you host your website LUMPYIMAGES (sad excuse for a web design service) with (synergy-dti) GotWebHost.

You should consider hosting with MOJO if you like them so much DEEJ!!!

nifty ... youre researching me and mine...

Brad has never given me work. I have used his hosting in the past... many of my clients have as well...

I find their service to be some of the utmost professional. Super quick and ALWAYS thorough. Plus, Brad is a good guy in person.

I guess I have won a photo chopping contest where i put brad holding a big black dick...

I won 75 bucks I think...

now webair...

bad past experience... many others as well... usually a monthly(sometimes weekly) webair thread containing negative feedback...

LOTS of down time...

Not always, but there are spurts of constant hate and downtime for them...

weighing the two... yea, I'm going to go with Mojo>Webair

I never said you arent entitled to YOUR opinion... as anyone else here... About hosts... but you said some fucked up shit about a good guy because he talked bad about your 'friends'...

You are wrong, I am right :pimp

Deej 03-12-2009 12:19 AM

Ill go ahead and add here that I havent seen a webair hate thread for some time now...

Im glad for that...

but it dosnt dismiss the past...

Like I said Im weighing the two experiences...

the top three are as I previously stated :2 cents:

AntiDrama 03-12-2009 12:21 AM

I agree Brad @ MoJo seems like a cool guy. I believe he is doing pretty well for himself.

I was not dissing Bob. I took observation of one of his models and flew off the handle a little bit with it. Never did I say "she is 'xx' age.".

This really isn't about Bob anymore, though - its now about the problem I have with you. You think you're tough don't you? I know you're weak.

Its an opinion. I do think she looks underage.

I never once said she is. I do not know the facts.

If GFY wants to ban me, so be it.

You won a typing match. I'm happy for you. I really do not have the time to sit on GFY in a thread with DEEJ discussing a non-business related agenda.

I have some work to do before I go to bed. Feel free to answer ICQ so we can work out our marital problems there in the near future.

You admitted to going a little too far on what you said about SBJ's business. That's commendable.

Top host? That's a loaded question.

As far as # of customers in adult/mainstream & otherwise....

I would say Webair/NationalNet/Isprime-Oxeo & Techiemedia as having the most customers. I've seen all of these datacenters/and or talked to the owners & have a pretty good idea of customer amounts.

As far as the "top" hosts overall in adult total. Speaking of quite of quite a few clients & superior service/managed hosting & colo....geez

Webair (NYC & Amsterdam & Canada)
Nationalnet (Atlanta)
Mojohost (Florida)
Techiemedia ( owns a huge DC in Jersey )
Isprime & Oxeo ( out of NYC )
Reflected
Phatservers
oc3/pacificrack (mostly california)
swift
choopa
MysiD (dc's in canada/amsterdam/hongkong/germany/etc)
ironpathnetworks/quikhost (outta bmore/va)
yellowfiber ( zaks network )
cavecreek (ccbills operation)
righthosting (netbillings operation)
flyingcroc (formerly mtree's operation)

Then you got Virtumikes operation out of Amsterdam which is pretty fucking huge itself.

I know i am missing quite a few....ones out of business now that were huge, candidhosting/likewhoa (either out of biz or taken over)

Heck even Hungryman has his own host :winkwink:

god the fucking list goes on with that.....but its a very long list, all encompassing thousands of adult clients, not even counting mainstream

Still in business as PowerMedium and now Hostway. However, my invoice still says PowerMedium.

The folks I miss are PrimeNet. Everything, including full backups, password protection scripts, etc. were included as part of your hosting package. According to the owner, if you?re out of business we don?t make any money. Thus, he included everything you needed to stay afloat.

You are mistaken. No where on our site does it say we have a lowly tier 1 data center. Even if we did why in the world would we put that on our site? Tier 1 is the worst level data center you can have. Our data center is N+1 on ALL critical infrastructure, including UPS/Gensets, HVAC and core networking. Anyone who has toured our data center can verify that.

You might be referring to this segment on our web site...

"NationalNet's infrastructure has been designed to support the most discriminating and demanding organizations. Based on our state-of-the-art data center facilities and tier-one partnerships, NationalNet's infrastructure delivers the highest levels of security, performance and availability."

Easy mistake to make - and given that you read it the way you did, I may have to restructure that sentence so it's more clear.

Well, I'd be surprised if anyone in the adult industry would PAY the prices that it takes to be in a tier 4 data center. Is anyone here hosted in the softlayer.com DC data center (the one center that they have that is tier 4)? Most likely not because they are cost prohibitive. Here is some data from a Tier 1 Research document (http://www.tier1research.com/).

Cost per square foot to build a 10,000 sq ft data center to 150 W/square foot specifications.

Tier II: ~$875
Tier III: ~$1,250
Tier IV: ~$2,125

Big difference between tier 2 and 4. To do the math, the tier 2 data center costs $8,750,000. The tier 4 costs $21,250,000. That's HUGE.

Quote:

So if I had to take a wild stab at it, I'd say softlayer.com. They can handle DDOS attacks, they have a tier4 datacenter or centers. They have fast support from what I've heard. There's little complaints if any on the web about them and they are huge. They offer control panels if you want them which allow you to run your sites however you wish.
That's just not the case with some of these adult host that don't have control panel options.
You DO realize that many customers do not WANT to use control panels? You would be surprised, I think, about the number of people that don't want to know anything about a server, or how it works or what a control panel does. All they care about is managing their site and making money - they'll let someone else deal with the server stuff.

Are hosts like us, Mojo and some of the other great "no control panel" hosts mentioned here for everyone? Of course not. But there is a pretty large demand for us hosts that do a lot of hand holding. Just because a host doesn't offer a control panel doesn't mean that they are a sub-par host. :thumbsup

Okay...I've rambled enough. :)

I'd be surprised if any of the other "top adult host" listed have a tier 4 datacenter either. Not that's all that matters, if the support sucks or a ton of other things then the service probably sucks too.

I wonder how many of these "top adult host" can handle a big DDOS attack too. Many host out there cannot handle one, I'd bet these top adult host can't either. Maybe they can get it under control after some serious downtime but then again maybe not if it's your site, some host won't host your stuff if you get hit.

Aside from the cost of building a tier IV datacenter, do you know the details of it? Pretty much aside from the watt/sq foot factor is the dual power grid requirement, true n+2 building. Do you know how many tier IV datacenters there are in the US? Not many. There is only 1 in Northern virginia/probably all of Virginia and that is the new CRG West Facilitity.

DDOS migiation is expensive, and the people who do a real good job at it are the ones who specialize it, i.e clean pipe etc lots of hosts do good jobs but if you get an attack and it saturates pipes, multi 10G pipes well your just out of luck at that point and your not going to mitigate it.
