Sadly that is going to happen the second word leaks that your money may no longer be insured in the bank. Even though they are backed by the US Gov, that doesn't make me feel any better.

Personally, I never keep more in a US bank than I'm willing to lose. Been that way for years after a small run in with the IRS about 10 years ago where they helped themselves to one of my accounts and cleaned it out, without warning, due to a late payment. From that day on my outlook was different about how I stored my money.
