you won't be able to protect yourself by any antivirus, this is a bot that is trying to either steal your ICQ number or invite you to a site of some sort. Just ignore it

I get them all the time and after a few years now at least 50 a day - I stay on away or another field to stop seeing them as often and only check in to see if anyone is msg'ing me. Starting to use skype more now

Are you using the latest version?

2001B is more susceptible to this kind of spam. Upgrade to 6.5 and it should dramatically decrease.

Also, change your personal settings to not allow urls/links from users not in your contacts list.

Also, there is a link on the message window, report as spam.. click this and eventually the sending icq# will be terminated.

report/delete/block .. I am on a MAC using "Adium" so it is not a virus .. it is some sort of spam/jibberish most likely a bot .... always a small box .. number only no names ..
