"Some of the people who are most outraged turn out to be consumers of the very things they claimed to be outraged by," says Harvard Business School Assistant Professor Benjamin Edelman, who analyzed two years of anonymized credit card receipts.
It was found that the states with lowest and highest consumption varied little. Utah topped the list with 5.94 subscriptions for every 1000 broadband users, with Montana at the bottom with 1.92. Of the top ten states, eight voted for John McCain.
