Honestly, I prefer notepad primarily. Yeah, I'm oldschoool too.

"Homesite" is really nice for checking for syntax errors afterwards, but I don't know if it is available any more.

Adobe bought out Macromedia a while ago.

Adobe came out with this monstrosity called "Dreamweaver" which is supposed to be the do-all proggy. But it is kind of like the old joke about the GUI program for C++. Quite pointless if you actually know what you are doing.

Best regards,

Archer

i'm using homeSite 4.5.2, very old version I guess because I can't find anything better and that includes notepad++ with all it's plugins

CS3 for most my PHP and notepad to open and edit quickly.

Aptana studio for my ajax stuff but when done back to notepad for quick edits.

Notepad because its easier to right-click sendto notepad.

beta-tester 03-02-2009 04:51 AM

NetBeans, Eclipse and TextMate

You'd be surprised what the "pros" in this industry use, actually ... or who they are.

Right, thanks for the insight :upsidedow

Would someone explain to me why Coda is better than BBEdit?
I have looked at it multiple times and tried to use it but I go back to BBEdit.

I do all coding "on server" so I use FreeBSD's "ee" text editor. The last time I wrote a program locally I was coding in QuickBASIC. :D

tranza 03-03-2009 10:30 AM

notepad++ ever

brandonstills 03-03-2009 11:41 AM

TextMate if you are on Mac. If not vi (also works great if you need to edit files on server quickly). I want to look into emacs.
