Not if they are successful in building up their domestic consumer market. Once that happens, all bets are off regarding the US and China's codependent and convenient "Debt for consumption" arrangement. At that point, the damage caused by letting the dollar crash and burn would be offset by Chinese domestic consumption and internal growth.
