What shocked me was the paragraph before thelast one..
Is it all just bullshit to confuse people not familiar with law etc, or a real and clean way to go unpunished?

Rule #1 - Spammers Lie.

"We received your address from a public area. "

We harvested your address.

"NB. This message is sent in compliance with the new e-mail bill section
301. Under Bill S. 1618 TITLE III passed by the 105th US Congress."

We refer you to this senate bill that never passed and that stupid spammers like to refer even dumber spammees to.

"TO REMOVE YOUR ADDRESS FROM YOUR MAILING LIST: you can send message to
[email protected] with Subject "Remove"."

When you do this, WE MAY honor your request and not email you for this product again, but you just made it onto our "confirmed recipient" list and we'll certainly resell your address and add it to all of our other mail outs.

Scammers are thieves. Period.

Cheers,
Backov

I think you'll find that most spammers now days WILL REMOVE you from there lists when you fill out the remove option. I talked to a bunch of spammers and they said they always allow people to remove themselfs, there are plenty of people to email and it helps keep the complaints down and keeps spam haters off there backs.

Not all are that honest but I'd say most are these days. They don't want the heat from spamming, and the lawsuits that have come about are often to do with not being able to remove themselfs.

And all that legal spam bullshit about how there within the rules is bullshit, to be within the rules they have to have :ADV: at the start of the subject line and of course nobody does that as all the spam filters would remove it. And yes to be legal they also have to have a way for people to remove themselfs, AND they are not allowed to forge headers or fake return email addresses.

I am a spammer, a Professional one I might add. I do give everyone the chance to be removed from my lists. I make my living by sending out 3rd party mail. I also run #spam on EFnet.
I will add that there are alot of spammers on the net who make us good spammers look dirty and crooked as all hell. I run #spam for a few reason 1 to teach people how to correctly bulk mail , and the differences between bulk mailing as well as spamming.:
