Hello,

I found this jerk's url in my logs and he was hotlinking to my movies. There are tons of links to hotlinked movie files on here:

Who wants to bitch him out first?

I just thought it could help people out because I found myself on there and was able to change links.

BTW, has anyone come up with a way to .htaccess MPG files yet?

Or, does it have to use cookies and other methods in order to work?

Using "require valid-user" seems to be the only way I see to use .htaccess to protect them from hotlinkers. I think the refusal of MediaPlayer to send a referer AND having it ignore implied redirects is just a plot by M$ to get us all using it's DRM technology.

you need a zeus webserver and combine this with an ISAPI module ... and another 2 month time to get the code of the ISAPI working ... it´s a fucking nightmare.

There really needs to be a good easy way to protect our MPG files.

If your not planning to stream those mpg files, zip them in a pass protected zip file and leave the password on your main page.

Other than that you can always block referrers from xxxmovieforums with your .htaccess
