                          I am old, but some of my best memories are going to a club in Reno, NV in 86-87 and on Mondays it was called "Blue Monday" we all wore black and they played Depeche Mode, The Cure, New Order, etc.. the good old days.

                                                                          Not many have heard of Switch Blade but I was a die hard fan back in the day and model alot of my own style on some of the rythms they came up with that invented Industrial/GOth. I went to almost everything they ever did in San Francisco helping them personally in stage set up sometimes



                                                                          Unfortunatly thier fame was fast rising and the band couldnt handle it, ego's and the final break up which I think was devastating to a sound that was unique and barely born for a true following.

I also think that goth shit is pretty popular now. seems like new people every week, imho. some beautiful music though, yes, a very unique vibe indeed. some d.j.'s even burn incense, candles and the like

                                                                                                              the atmosphere nowadays isn't quite the same, it was so cool back then, can't go back in time, now goth is it's own kind of mainstream, back then nobody had to even call it goth, but there was kind of an alternative attitude that was special.... still like going to 'goth' clubs when I get a chance (which is hardly ever nowadays) but the bathrooms full of kids with their hot topic clothes putting on eyeliner is sometimes a little silly ... maybe I'm just getting old

                                                                                                                                                                                              yes, their second album is excellent. i had the chance to see them live in support of it in 98 i think up in toronto and they put on a good show. plus they hung out at the bar after and we got to chit chat (about nothing important of course)

                                                                                                                                                                                              all the other people in my local scene really did not like that 2nd album but i think it's a brilliant blend of different genres.
