Ontario actually. Ontario decided to make it a holiday in 2007 just like Manitoba.
I bet business owners loved it then but now with the economy in shambles, they're probably wishing they were rather at work making some money.Comment

True enough.... I never knew that.. all I know if he kept getting fucked over by holidays, since it would be a stretch from Christmas until sometime in March (lived in Alberta for 25 year prior - they have Family Day in Feb) Now consider this is Winterpeg, where -40 is a common occurrence and well, a lot of people including myself were bitching and complaining about the lack of being able to be a lazy ass and staying at home for a day.
