Don't forget the greed factor, which is why many people lost their entire investment savings. Why diversify to protect your investments when you could be earning a percent or two more by parking it ALL with Madoff? No problems. :D

These people had it coming.. but like other have said before, it was the greed factor that kept perpetuating this whole debacle, which is the same thing for any pyramid scheme.

Anyone who ever questioned how the system works, got shot down and told to shut up and keep cashing the cheques, or they could have all their money back with no more questions asked.
