You do not always need exclusive to bank on clip stores. However, I honestly doubt tired 1000 times rerun shit will sell well unless priced accordingly. In the end, it will come down to can you market and have some decent content.Comment

Couldn't have said it better - I started using clip stores a few months back diverting some of my own traffic to the store. Now I'm seeing people sign up for my pay sites from the clip stores AFTER already spending two to three times as much on clips as the original membership would have cost them. Not that I'm complaining........Real Amateur Porn, Amateur Teens, Sister Porn......

Back in the "good ole days" there were less than 5,000 (now over 20,000) stores. So it was all about the 'pop'. Neil bought traffic and threw it at the main page, also did his Howard Stern promos, among other things.
You would be on the main page for a few hours, or most of the day (depending on when you were around) and then you could take advantage of the 'pop' traffic and depend on it. As many did.
I, however, always promoted mine elsewhere. I hate being dependent on other people's traffic, or I should say one traffic source. So I would add clip store links to my other things and drive some more traffic to the store. It has served me well.
The 'pop' was always nice, and I still consider it when doing updates. But I consider that gravy traffic, and do not bank on it. It is not clips4sale's responsibility to get me traffic.Comment

Depends on the company.
Content can be worked from many different angles. Some people think you need exclusive, and that is not always the case. In the end it will come down to who can market the best, and who know how to work the system.
Whether clips4sale, or tgp's, pay sites, tube hybrids, whatever. Knowing 'how to sell' is equally as important as the best, most exclusive, most professional, content in the world.

This is sooooooo true! When I started my first paysite four years ago I also started a Clips4Sale store to supplement income. I am still amazed even today how some people will spend hundreds of dollars buying individual clips, when they could just spend $30 for a one month membership and download whichever ones they wanted.
I know it doesn't make sense, but they still do it . . so guys, follow the advice and get a Clips4Sale store - it's a no-brainer.

I started my clips4sale store recently and I should have done it months ago! I've started branching out in another niche and I'm getting some great information about what sort of clips I do well & sell well. I've checked out some of the successful studios in the top 50 and they update daily, take customer requests, and generate their own traffic whether it is through other pay sites and/or community forums.
I'm going to submit a movie gallery to see what that sort of traffic does for my clips4sale store. I'm also going to add 2 new clips a day. I'm excited to see what my results are after a full month on there

Do you find that the clips4sale stores leech sales from your paysites? It sounds like one kinda feeds the other, which is an awesome thing for you! If you're doing fetish stuff, like tickling, all the stuff you mentioned, then wow, what a great resource! But would 'mainstream' porn - non fetish/kink scenes - do well on C4S or do you think, in that scenario, C4S would leech sales from the paysite?
I only ask because I've always wondered this. If I were a surfer and I saw an option to buy a single clip for, say, $6.99, maybe I would choose that option rather than the $29.95 recurring option (or even $34.95 non-recurring).

A sale is a sale.
A lot of times they are buying multiple clips. So they are already paying more than a single month's membership. Plus they tend to buy throughout the month. I have had people buying hundreds of dollars of clips (all the new) every month instead of just buying a membership.

My only thing about C4S, and all clip stores, is that, for ME, for MY shitty content (the stuff I shoot, not Fellucia Blow or Sexxy Brandon or any of the higher quality stuff I have) the amount of effort it took to pull in only a couple hundred bucks a week wasn't worth it to me; I'd rather spend that time working on my network.
Having said that, if I had content that sold on the clips stores I'd being doing exactly the same thing as you (tho no way as successful).

Clips stores are not for everyone. Not everyone's content is going to convert. Plus they take some degree or work just like a pay site or any other adult property. Not as much IMHO. However, you still have to invest a wee bit of time to make your cabbage.
That said, I love the simplicity of a clip store. For me, it is easy extra money with less than a half hour's worth of work daily to make a car or house payment for the month. Even on rerun content.
A clip store is not going to make you a millionaire, but for what little time it takes me (and others) for the extra money. It is a nice business model for some easy money.Comment

Maybe once the new MisterPeabodyWorld launches (this week, finally, thank Jesus) and the revamped AP program launches (in about 2 weeks) I can turn my attention to trying a clips store again. I KNOW it would be killer for Fellucia Blow but, in her case, I am a little worried her paysite sales may decrease. We shall see.

I have been in this industry for more than 40 years. So I have a lot of old footage and videos that have been doing nothing for several years.
