Using the entire screen for the design, and in your face! Lots of movies that have joins next to them. That's all I can tell you now. Or I will have to kill you

lots of blinking gifs, preferrably from clipart sites hosted at tripod. Frontpage sites are taking the net by storm and 10 nested tables are the way to go! design has become more emotional, after you can hold a shape or a form, keep them intact, balanced and proportional, structurally organized... after that you try to break away from solid shapes and forms - it becomes almost intimate and emotional. emotionally you can blow a mind away and sell them what they want. i know, its nonsense.Comment

The way I see a paysite is simple really, 2 or 3 graphics (logo, and a couple detail backgrounds or icons to draw attention) and that's it.
The content along with some CSS will create the perfect flow through a site and to the ultimate goal which is of course the sign up page.
Not only is it the best looking option, it's also the most dynamic and cost effective. See Sig!

gotta have magic join links, nested tables all text as jpgs so its nice and fuzzy and there's no html text cause SE's hate html text.
640*480 screensize and try to use that lovely yellowy/brown affect that russian photos usually have.
If you're really lucky you may have the pixmasters 2500pics cd that had every photo taken on a brown sofa. use that for your graphics.Comment

I hear loud music on autoplay does wonders. Girls moaning and screaming, a browser hijack & epileptic seizure triggering flashes.Comment

You may be right, but it's also right to say there have been sales lost due to shitty design.
Design includes more than just the pretty colors though. I agree with you that shit isn't important, but I consider things like the navigation and flow of a site to be part of the design, and they are VERY important IMHO.
Even the greatest content can get lost in a shitty site.
I have seen tours with a large header image and then 4 scenes on the first page. That's only 5 chances to connect with the surfer, and that's if he scrolls down.
and let's not forget the signup page. Design is real important here. Even some of the best tours I have seen have lazy sign up pages... and again, I'm not talking about the pretty colors, I mean the layout and the delivery of a LOT of information. As a surfer, there's a lot I want to see on that page to know I'm safe before I whip out the credit card.

OK, so what for most sites that share the same kind of content? Whether they share the crappy style or the amazing style, what are you going to do to make a difference? On a side note I've proof that sometimes overused content converts way better than most exclusive sites... if you know what you're doingThis post is endorsed by CIA, KGB, MI6, the Mafia, Illuminati, Kim Jong Il, Worldwide Ninjas Association, Klingon Empire and lolcats.
