    Octuplet Mom Launches Website For Donations

    Octuplet mom Nadya Suleman has launched a website asking for donations for her family of 14 children.

    The site features pictures of the eight newborns, with their names and birth weights, drawings of a rainbow, bottle and pacifier, and has two options to donate.

    She is accepting monetary donations payable by credit card (MasterCard, Visa, AmEx and Discover taken) and she also given an address to which one can send goods.

    The website also contains a section to leave a comment and the following message:

    "We thank you for the love and good wishes sent to us from around the world. The octuplets arrived on 1-26-09. They are all healthy and growing stronger by the day."

    Suleman no doubt needs help. She has no income, is $50,000 in debt. She also receives $490 a month in food stamps and receives about $600 in disability payments a month for each of the three of her older six children with disabilities. One has ADHD, one had a speech impediment and one has autism, according to NBC's "Dateline" special.

                                          I watched some of the interview last night. She comes across like she should be a pretty smart person. She comes up with justification for what she's done, but in the long run who she will have to justify it to are these 8 new souls and her 6 existing children.

                                          I know what it cost to raise 2 children as a single mom. It was hard keeping on the bills and keeping food in the house. I have a friend who has 7 ranging from 21 to 6 now. She divorced about 5 years ago and works two jobs and barely makes ends meet. Heck..sometimes doesn't make ends meet.

                                          It sounds like to this point someone else.. likely her parents have been footing the bill for her kids and caring for them along with the state in some way. Even with all the outrage I am sure someone will pick things up and pay her handsomely and she'll greedily grab it up in the name of "allowing me to be there for my children".

Although I must admit I have been having tooth surgery issues the last few days so I watched it through a Vicodin haze. She would say a few things that would make sense, then she would say other things that made her sound crazy.

                                                                                                  I read some interesting stuff about her today:
                                                                                                  It sounds like her parents are pissed off at her for having the kids and her dad has taken a job as a contractor in Iraq to help pay for them.

                                                                                                  Her hospital bill will end up being somewhere between 1.5-2 million dollars. She has no way of paying it so it looks like the tax payers of California will pay it.
