    Are iPhone users really this fucking retarded?

    I saw a commercial today extolling the virtues of the iPhone, by way of its myriad "apps". Apparently, the haystack of apps even includes one to help you "split the bill among five people while at a restaurant".

    Unless the app is designed to have you scrupulously enter every line item on the receipt, then assign those line items to one or more of the five guests for the most Jewish method of restaurant tab division EVER, (this strangely resembles one of my high school QBASIC programming lessons) then it would seem that this app is a glorified FUCKING CALCULATOR. TOTAL / 5 = ANSWER!!!!

    CALCULATORS HAVE BEEN STANDARD FEATURES IN PHONES FOR A DECADE!

    Apple, take your illusion of innovation and that ridiculous mouse you came up with (you know which one I'm talking about), and set yourself on fire ASAP.

                          A software company that develops apps for the iphone has made over $5million in 6 months. They made less than that in 10 years of PC software development.

                                              Nah bro, what I'm saying is that there is a perfect app for this task. It's the regular ol' calculator. I'm no math whiz, I'm only calling BS on making an app for a task that already has a perfect, ANCIENT app to handle it.

                                                  I know the iPhone has its perks. This is more of a social commentary as to the obvious lowly opinion Apple must have of its users, thinking that this app is the greatest thing since sliced bread, + a good opportunity for some humor.

                                                                      I can walk to the store, too, but I'd rather drive the Viper and look cooler ... to people in the same demographic, psychographic, and technographic markets, it's a slick and entertaining way to divvy things up out at a restaurant. Last time we went to Outback, my wife, sister in law, and I all had our iPods/iPhones and were comparing apps ... I don't think I saw ONE that would have been "useful" to me beyond passing the time or looking slick ... but that isn't the point for me .. I dunno.

                                                                          Well, the commercial aims to get new people on the iPhone, and get people with the iPhone to buy apps. So as opposed to aiming for the Aborigine market sector, I'd say the commercial is a square shot at the prospective iPhone'rs and current ones.

                                                                          Secondly, 16 year old girls should know how to use a calculator.

AT&T service sucks crusty asscrack here in NC. I had it for a week and got more dropped calls during that week than in the previous 5 years of being on Verizon... not to mention there is a HUGE difference in voice quality between GSM and CDMA.

I use to have to carry a mini laptop with me almost everywhere i went to be able to control all my servers and fix/troubleshoot stuff while im out. Now i can ssh, remote desktop, ping, traceroute, etc. and troubleshoot almost everything i need from my phone.
