I got a Kindle for Christmas. Been using it like crazy.

I used to read like crazy before having kids, etc. Never been a big tv watcher. Over the years it had gotten to where I only read waiting for an appointment or something like that.

In the past two months, I can't count the number of nights I've stayed up reading on the Kindle.

If the picture above is of the new version, I think I'll stick with mine.

Check out the engadget link - it has lots of pics and videos. The user inteface doesn't seem to have changed much, but the wireless speed, the UI responsiveness, the memory, the battery life, the display resolution, and the software features have apparently improved by HUGE factors.

Glad to hear you like yours... I'm really tempted. My nightstand/table by the bed is a teetering pile of books. This would be so much better if it is actually usable.

It is sweet, but that is a pretty steep price.

The Kindle is one amazing device that helps bring even more content to people in the current digital age. My friend has one and it's amazing. I was looking for the Kindle 2 to come out and will be picking up one shortly

Pretty cool, but I like the old school feel and smell of a real book.

Been waiting for v2....but what's the deal with rss'ing your favorite blogs? Are they still charging for that? If i read that correct (back in the day) it's the one thing that's kept me away from the kindle.

What's the story with that? Anyone know?

Don't know. I bet they have some 'base wireless subscription' fee that lets you get x number of feeds.

It looks like you can USB download your own text and word and PDF files for no charge. Hello torrent ebook market!!!

I've been thinking about that. What can you get on it? I like to read a bunch of magazines but last time I checked they don't have many. It's mostly fiction books which I rarely if ever read.
