				 | I know.. all the businesses around here seem steady from the outside looking in. I just got approved for a nice new line of credit. It's hitting 700,000 people a month - just no one we know. lol |

				 | Many people still honestly think it is faster and cheaper to eat out. Restaurants around here are doing OK, but several have dropped prices and or sizes a tad and are really pushing them pretty hard via advertising. Oh reason I said about what people think, that is just going by talking to some people I know who rarely cook.

				 | Same here. I got Red Lobster, Olive Garden at least one every week. Even some local higher end places a few times a month. I have yet to see a slow down even on the middle of the week nights. Same thing at the malls, movie theatres, and so on. Always packed. Supposedly, according to the economist shows. They are going, but not spending as much. |

				 | I live in the Philippines and many of the malls' parking lots here are packed from Thursday to Sunday. Restaurants--packed. Malls--packed. Maybe it's just market stratification but this is puzzling given the fact that there's been thousands of layoffs recently in the manufacturing/electronics sector. Either way, I'm sure there's more than meets the eye. One thing is for sure--when the US catches a cold, many parts of the developing world catches pneumonia. That said, I'll still continue saving up/getting ready for the coming economic tsunami. |

				 | I think it also depends on which area of the country you are living in. Some areas are getting hit much harder than others. |

There are some amazing things you are going to notice when economy start getting worse. What are you describing isn't strange at all. It will probably last until last moment. I am talking from personal experience regarding people that I am looking every day. There is phase when people will start spending money just to show to other people that everything is ok, and they will save at home and live miserably.

				 | It's very up and down around here. one week the restaurants are packed, the next they are empty. I swear they fill up every time the market goes up a few percent. I've also noticed sales seem higher on good market days. lol. not sure if i am seeing shit or not.

				 | One of my favorite really upscale restaurants had to close down for a few days, change formats to a "bar and grill" and lower prices to make it more pedestrian. It upset me deeply, but they felt the crunch.

				The economy is slowing down...
A lot of you here are directly affiliated with the adult industry so you'll probably not feel the any direct or tangible effects of the recession. I know several people who work in manufacturing, many of them have been terminated and the others are worried about losing their jobs. Lots of buyouts for employees at big companies. It'll be interesting to see how this all plays out. Consider yourselfs lucky to be involved in an industry that doesn't get hit. I'll quote Larry Flynt on this "People can live without cars and fancy houses, but they can't without sex." I agree... |

				 | You want to see the recession come down to my area. Foreclosures signs all over, businesses going under all the time. Even big name restaurants that have some backing are pulling up stakes after one slow weekend. The mall near by has so many empty store fronts, it is pretty bad here. |

				 | LOL. So many people have had their house foreclosed on so they are living with friends and family. It's all the rage these days. I've been saying the same thing for months now. There is all of this talk about people loosing jobs left and right, and the truth is like the mall parking lot is always packed. A few weeks ago I went to the movies and had to walk past six restaurants and each and every one of them had a waiting line.

				 | Over 60% of the real estate franchises in the US have gone bankrupt or will be within 6 months. Everyone in and around that industry is fucked. Construction, restaurants, retail, luxury services (home stereos, car customization, etc.), the whole upper management and executive sector in American business and so many more...they're all coming crashing down and it will be years until we even start to see a leveling off, much less a true, lasting economic upswing. This is the perfect time to move out of the US, put your money in cash and take advantage of the plethora of amazing investments that are popping up because of this blood bath. It's a shame that it's happening, but it would be a bigger shame to miss the opportunities it's offering while you suffer it's wrath. |

				 | My favorite steak house I can walk in on a saturday without a reservation and get seated rather quickly. Are there people there yes but its not as crowded. Im seeing more and more businesses out of business. But on the other hand I see some places packed. As far as malls full you would have to look at are they buying and if so how much. I also think its where you are I forget where obama is going tomorrow to speak but they have 15% unemployment. |

				 | Seems like everyone's spending like they used to... at least where I live. Restaurants look packed for the most part and Wal-Mart is stupid busy 24 hours a fucking day.
