One quick question. Is it $29 a month for a control panel or is that one time setup fee? If I don't get a control panel then I assume it is just line code control or is there some time of basic panel included?

fris 02-27-2009 07:41 PM

how come you are using p4's, you do realize its 2009

because it costs all of $59 for the machine and 10mbps all together, including the cost of power, ice cold air conditioning, support techs, physical space, software costs related to our portal and backend management, etc. for $59 you are getting a lot

hi kane,
control panels are 3rd party companies softwares -- and they all charge monthly licensing fee's, so its a monthly cost. we actually do not make any profits on control panels in order to get them as affordable as possible for everyone.

if you don't get a control panel, you have full root command line access to the server to perform the needful manually

He said it was a special because he had some "broken in" overstocked hardware.
You can get a lot of good use out of some P4's for webserving.

sat. afternoon bump

Chris 05-23-2009 06:12 PM

i took them up on this offer

its a great deal
first month went smooth
second month we decided to upgrade because the speed and servers are good ...

after we upgrade we decided we need some tech support... that was a nightmare

and then had a billing nightmare that cost me 70$ in overdraft charges as they ignored me request to use epassporte as payment instead they charge my card twice after i send the epassporte .. so i not only upgraded my server but paid for it twice and then got hit with a 70$ fee overdraft fee ....

accountings responce she didnt know what i was trying to say but i should have a 60 credit on my next invoice ( even tho my server cost more then that and that doesnt cover the 70$ in overdraft fees )

but this could be a rare exp. for them who knows

suppose ill find out when the invoice comes in and see if they try to charge that acount again

TidalWave 05-23-2009 06:26 PM

I found your account and I'm reading over that billing ticket, and it's not really clear what you are asking for.
ePassporte payments are not automated and have to wait until someone see's the payment, finds the account it belongs to and then associates that payment. That is one downfall of using ePass as opposed to Paypal or credit card.

If you want to remove your credit card from your account, please open a ticket and say that flat out so we can do that.
I see all your ePass credits applied to invoices. You have no credits left. Your current invoice which is not due yet has a part of its balance already paid for from credits.

You can see if you have any credits left, and what has been applied to which invoice all from inside our portal. Please look it over and open a billing ticket if there is something you'd like for us to do.
If you want to completely stop using your CC, please say that in the new ticket that you open. You will have to make sure that when you send ePass payments you fill out the notes section and specify your name and account number so we know it belongs to you.

Thank you!

I know epassporte is not instant and you guys dont know unless you are told.

And I do tell our contact every time ive sent and epassporte payment like i was asked to

also how did you look me up ? ;x

TidalWave 05-23-2009 07:03 PM

Hi Chris,

Thats good to hear that you inform us every time. I was just re-iterating the point in case it wasn't being done.
Please make sure you open up a billing ticket and specify if you'd like to remove the CC from file completely and only pay via ePassporte.

I'd also like for you to look over all your invoices and make sense of them, that way I have satisfaction in knowing that everything is straight with your account to your standards as I don't want anyone harboring ill-feeling towards our procedures and various departments.

Thanks!

Even though we have over 1400 client accounts, I try to be familiar with almost each and every account under PacificRack to make sure I can help to my fullest.

Thanks!

Nope..... LA..... and I'm white, and we have NO OUTSOURCED staff. All our staff is on-site here in Los Angeles.
Just wanted to make this clear.

Killswitch - BANNED FOR LIFE 05-23-2009 10:34 PM

You say for $10/mo extra, for 1 year we can OWN the server, does that mean, after that 1 year, I only have to pay for bandwidth? Or any upgrades I want? But not the actual leasing of the server... therefor the price if left with no upgrades etc, should be less then $59/mo after that 1 year?

was just kinda strange because only thing connecting me to the server is billing as all i do is pay for it
i dont have sites on it :)

Chris 05-24-2009 09:40 AM

My question now is i paid my server on april 24th via epassporte.
You guys on may 4th charge my credit card TWICE after i already paid on an bank account that no longer has funds in it ( the reason i switched to epassporte ) ...Now i did just look at my invoice. I see a 60$ credit for what was charged on my credit card but that still does not cover the 80$ in Fee's (two 39$ over draft charges because you guys did two transactions )

TidalWave 05-24-2009 09:41 AM

Please open a new ticket. The 1 and only ticket under your account related to billing does not mention any over draft fee's, etc.

HorseShit 05-24-2009 10:05 AM

why are you two retards discussing your problems on the boards?

TidalWave 05-24-2009 03:55 PM

Why would you only pay for bandwidth? Is OUR cost ONLY bandwidth just because you own the server?
You would then be COLOCATED but OWN the machine. If you have no interest in gaining the asset then that option is no benefit to you.
The cost for colocation - ON THAT SERVER SPECIFICALLY AS A PROMO - would remain $59 and you would gain the asset.
If you don't have any benefit from owning the server, then you shouldn't pick that option.

$59 for 10Mbps with a server (either in colo or as a dedi) is a great deal.

Please MAKE A TICKET WITH ALL THE DETAILS.
A phone call provides no history for anyone to be able to go back and read line for line what you said or what you wanted. I want to make sure you are happy which is why I'm pursuing your original comment.

Please specify if you want us to REMOVE your on-file credit card and you will have to make sure you pay on time each month manually and inform us manually each month as its done via ePassporte.

Yikes, no idea if you're mad about something, but you came off kind of snobby with that reply...

I was just curious as I have never personally owned a server so I didn't see a benefit in paying the extra for owning it and just wanted to know... What's so great about owning a server other then the joys of having it physically moved when you decide to go somewhere else?

alias 05-24-2009 04:06 PM

Just seems like a bunch of idiots on the board today. Didn't mean to be snappy at you.
The benefit is that you add an asset to your corporation, as well as freedom to configure your server as you personally want once you own it and normally (when the price isn't this low to begin with), colocation over a period of 12-24 months reduces your monthly recuring costs once you've amortized the initial capex of the hardware.

alias 05-24-2009 04:13 PM

Corporate jargon rocks my world.
