Another option is going back to school on grants/scholarships/low cost-subsidized loans. You reinvest in yourself and ride out the tough times. I doubt the current economic slowdown will last only 3 to 5 years. I have a feeling the impact of this slowdown will be felt for over a decade. Don't believe me? Just look at Japan in the 90s and now...

Thats's a backup plan.

If things get bad enough or I get real sick, i'll figure out what crime will land me in a Club Fed where I can come out a few years later all tanned and fit.
