The one thing I think you are mistaken about is the talent that Jordan had on his team.
Rodman.. the best rebounder and defender the game has ever seen
Pippen.. maybe the best 2nd best player on his team EVER. Also one of the best small forwards ever.
The bulls also had some very good point guards over those years.. the Lakers have had nothing.
Center... The one advantage you can now give to the Lakers.. Shaq stint was short but now having Pau and a hurt Bynam gives the Lakers the edge.

I would also have to bring up the point that it was easier for Jordan to score back in the day. The players were smaller, the d was softer and the average team scored 10+ more points per game. More points to go around more easy layups and assists.

Players were softer when Jordan played? How old are you? Because you don't have a clue...and the rules then made it much harder for a player like Jordan to score than guys today.

liking hamburgers over hotdogs is a preference...Jordan being the greatest player of all time is just how it is...there's no preference. The only player in sight that could take that crown someday is King James.

If the guy can manage to stays healthy he could end his career with around 40,000+ points, 10,000+ assists, 10,000+ rebounds. Those numbers are out of this world.

Micheal would have never let Paul Pierce steal HIS show in the finals like kobe did, he can have as many big scoring nights as he wants, he just doesn't have the same mojo as Mike.

[QUOTE=TheStout;15431444]I didnt know Chamberlain was mentioned by anyone other than you in this thread. I think that is because nobody besides you has mentioned him. So in that case if you really new the game when mentioning the most dominate forces in the game you failed to mention Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Bill Russell and Julius Erving.QUOTE]

read the thread, they were all mentioned by someone else.

Those teams in the early 90's were scoring easily 110 points a game. Todays average is about 92, That just shows the defense that was going on back then..

Because Stockton and Malone are comparable to Pierce, Garnet, and Ray Allen.

Wow.

Cory, you're a much better writer on your blog than you are making sports arguments here on GFY.

19-31 shots
3-6 3pt
20-20 free throws
61 total points

That's just stupid MJ was and always will be so much better than KB.

Funny how people never bring up how good the Bulls were, and how weak their competition was.
Exactly.. the east was horrible and the bulls were stacked beyond belief

lol, how old am I...? Did you start your business yesterday or are you a surfer?

Yes, I do have a clue. As a matter of fact I was in High School playing ball myself during Jordans reign. Im a Jordan fan. But I also believe Kobe is every bit as good and the stats prove it.

The game was different back then. The players were much smaller! That's a fact. It's the same with baseball, tennis, hockey, football, and everything else. Not to mention the Bulls were stacked!

Exactly. You played. Which means you can step back and see he is just as good. Its funny, Jordan's marketing is absolutely astounding in terms of garnering legions of blind followers. God forbid we discuss Magic either.

I mean, when someone says no one "will ever be as good" as Jordan, that alone tells you the mentality of someone. That's just not practical. That's very commercial influenced.

Yeah, hard to choose between both. I'd choose Jordan just because he didn't rape anyone, though
