workout music... metalheads, get your long haired asses in here.
Ok, so I never used to listen to music when I worked out. I worked out like maybe 3 or 4 times a year. Well this year I'm like a madman, I entered into a $1200 dollar competition and I stand a really good chance of winning. It's not a whole lot of money, but I'm in it to win it mutha fuckas!!
So today I played my ipod while walking (I'm kinda fat so walking is about all I'm going to be doing for now) I had a few fast metal songs from my youth, like "Jesus Built My HotRod" by Ministry and Anthrax and Public Enemy "Bring the Noise" When those songs came on, I blocked everything out. I got completely lost in the music, nothing mattered, my legs didn't burn, my breathing relaxed, I just wanted to walk all day. By the time they came on, I was walking fast at 3.2 miles an hour for 30 minutes and for me I was sweating like a pig. I didn't run as I heard that walking fast was harder. I'm no expert but that seems to be true in my case. So what I need is good metal. DWB suggested Pantera. Anyone got anymore? I'm gonna light up my itunes account in a little while so help me out. What songs or artists are good for getting you pumped up?

I'm a bit new school with my metallicaly inclined listening tastes...
SOAD, Korn, Distrubed, Tool, APC, Avenged Sevenfold are typical playlists for me for walks...

Sepultura got me through many workouts. For steady state cardio (treadmill/elliptical/etc) i recommend some trance. Lets you zone out while you sweat

Avenged Sevenfold had done the trick for me. The album City of Evil.
