Nope. I looked at 5 different designers sites and $99 or $100 was the going rate. I get more suggestions/options this way.

standard business card dimensions are 3.5" x 2"

Be as creative as you like though. If you feel a square logo works best, go for it. I will work my cards around what's best.

Typically a contest is supposed to be for MORE than the going rate.

The XMen logo is an X in a circle. A business card is a rectangle. I thought an oval with an X would look good.

However, this doesn't have to be the only possibility. If you think of something that looks awesome, throw it on out there.

Yes he has done a good job. I will only get different if people start with his design and go from there. If they want to be creative and go their own way, why not?

Just my 2cents, but if he wants to put in his thoughts for the $100, that's what it's worth. If no one else feels they can beat the design then he will be the winner of course.
