I have read all the books & I liked the first movie. I don't know if I'll go the theater or not for it. I'm waiting to see The Two Towers on the big screen. I don't want to get burned out on movie popcorn & giant pop

Just got back from seeing it with my 9 year old. If you have young kids you might want to think twice about taking them to it. There is about 10 minutes that involve some very mean and large spiders.

This movie was actually better than the last one and was probably the most reacted to movie I have seen in a long time. Several scenes where the packed theater clapped and a good number of times when people jumped ( I even heard a few 'oh shit's).

If you have time stick around past the credits. A funny little extra thing at the end.

BTW. I predict $98 million opening weekend. The first did $93 million. Anyone else have a prediction?

oh, and there is a really cool new trailer for Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers that also got a good reaction from the crowd.

December 18! That movie is going to rock!!!!!

Harry Poter was cool. Not really into it but I took my friends kids and they loved it. Movie was long almost 3 hours!!! The spiders and the snake part freaked out everyone.

I give it:

I took my 7 and 6 years old to see it and we all had a great time...

seriously, go ahead and vbrave the crowds...the theater we saw it in was packed with kids and it wasn't the madcap scene one would expect....everyone was transfixed...it had some fun scary parts (same as the book) and even, for me, a moment that almost made me misty-eyed in the book...and the movie...

my daughter named her new doll Hermoine...lol

I've read all of the books, but so far have only read the first two to the kids...it's a slower process for them because then can only handle 10-12 pages a night. but amaingly enough, this 2 hour 41 minute movie kept them glued to the seats...they didn't even whine for a bathroom break...we had our cast iron bladders with us for this movie...

I'm also eagerly awaiting the Two Towers...debating on whether to take the kids or not...unlike most brats at movies, mine are very attentive moviegoers and share my love of movies....they both love the DVD, I'm just concerned about the sound levels...it seems most theaters these days love to enhance our viewing by deafening us....

Apparently not - its the only book to be number one on both children?s and adults bestseller list.

My girlfriend and i just got back from it - and this is definitely cool flick for all ages. One of the more unique stories out these days for sure.
