I also wonder just how long until some "weekender ufc wannabe" training guy ends up killing someone in a street fight.

Its the most popular sport now, martial arts studios put up "mma training" in their windows to attract more customers.

yah, what i had mentioned above before i edited is there are many states that will try you for attempted murder if you beat someone down and they can't fight back. i believe that there are stipulations like gross bodily harm or some shit, but long sotry short if you're a trained professional fighter and you abuse it on people who aren't they will throw the book at you. i agree with you, its just a matter of time.

it's full on, you injure someone you will be tried. an old guy i worked with was aboxer when he was young, he got in a brawl and damn near killed a guy, he had a record of getting into fights, and now decades later he's like 53 and still has to check in with the local police department everytime he goes a new town to work. to check in his "dangerous weapons" for whatever legal reason. if he gets caught in a fight again he'll be an old man in jail for a long long time again, heh. people who are trained to be a killing machine should have some fucking self control, but some just don't and they are indeed dangerous.....
