What's up with FaceBook's censorship?

Just got a notice that a picture was removed for nudity. It was a picture of a tit, but there was a removable tat covering the nipple.

My concern is this, who is going through and monitoring all the content on our personal pages? It is only viewable by friends, so I am a little surprised.

Anyone have any insight to the workings of FB?

I've heard that they have hundreds on the payroll who sit and monitor all content that gets added and censors everything to keep it clean.
They are damn fast, when you consider just how much is going on during any given day.

Google has talked about this before on WMR I believe it was. Kinda how they 'scan' for images on sites for adsense, Google images, and so forth.

While admitting it is not perfect, it is some kinda roaming bot that scans and flags for human review..

Its not based on size, its based on curvature and darkness/light ratios from one area to another. I did a senior class on making skin filters in my upper year programming courses. You'd be surprised how much mathematics goes into these kinds of filters.
