Smartness has a dual purpose -- to gain personal knowledge... and for entertainment... But you may find that knowledge is entertainment and entertainment is knowledge -- as they approach each other in significance! Just have fun... That's the meaning of life. |
"you are the future of this country" is just a ploy by your professor -- and see it has worked -- you still remember his line to this day because he was a smart fucker. He used a simple phrase to feel inadequate so that you would work harder so that you got better grades so that he would look better as a professor so he could make more money so that he could fuck his wife with a little more confidence. You see the mind works like that... Satan is in every word that leaves our lips.

I went to U of Texas (kick ass Art dept, best in the states) , U of New Orleans, Art Institute of Houston, and had great American Professors who spoke good English and cared about students. Then again, I went to College in the South. Were you in Canada? http://www.aih.artinstitutes.edu/ http://www.uno.edu/ |

I am FAR too smart to have read the first 4 pages of this thread.

All of the 100 to 300 level science and math courses were taught by graduate students, who were mostly comprised of foreign exchange students. |

And a lot of profs I met were sooo specialized in one area so insignificant that they were functionally stupid in society as a whole. |

ah well, I enrolled in the texas schools for the higher amount grant money & from my scholarships, due to residency... then I used the money to pay off my schooling back home at UNO (University of New Orleans) worked out well, had a dorm in Texas for 3 weeks. I cant stay in Texas more than 3 days now, driving through it. I have driven through from border to border on Texas quite a few times, and its 24 hours border to border, can never get through their quick enough. Houston is only 5 hours out of new Orleans so exchanging residency isnt a big prob. Anyhow, sorry college sucked. In New Orleans we had a bar on campus. And bars right across the street with .25 cent pitchers of beer all day long between classes. mmmm I had a blast in college. :1orglaugh |

I had a c++ instructor that would launch into weekly tirades about how studying anything outside the "hard sciences" was an utter waste of time. Art, history, religion, literature, etc etc were all worthless pursuits that did not contribute to humanity and would only leave you flat broke with no future. All the little poindexters in the class would get a good laugh and then we would move along. I hated that fucking guy. My first roommate during college was a civil engineer. His whole course load was nothing but physics, math, chemistry, and LOTS of it. His homework used to blow my mind. Just pages of formulas. BUT, like everyone else, he had to take his core requirements... which meant some social sciences, some art. Real basic shit like intro to art, intro to english, intro to history. He was a vegetable. He couldnt put together a coherent sentence if his life depended on it. Unless he could punch it into his TI, he couldnt understand it. I had to proofread everything he did, and it was one of the most disturbing things I have ever seen. Absolute math and physics genius, but an utter and complete retard outside that realm. Most of my professors were that way. The classic mad professor type guys. Just come in all dirty, fucked up hair, no care about how they dress. Just an hour or so of fucking spazzing out in front of a bunch of students. All of my 100 to 300 level courses were taught by graduate students. What doctor who has been studying and writing on the same subject for 40 years, wants to come in and teach Intro to Anthro to a bunch of fratboys who need some elective credits? |

my favorite crowd was the aggies - those farm boys REALLY knew how to party and somehow always managed to have a 2 to 1 girl to guy ratio at their parties. They had a real talent for throwing parties with faculities that were mostly women - nursing, home economics, etc. Gear parties had like 7 geeks to every babe and were totally lame in comparison. |
let's kill some teachers for fun

To me, school didnt really kick in till junior year, and then both my senior years. Fuck off, nobody graduates in 4 years. I have only met one person who got their BS/BA in 4 years. I was amazed I did it in 5. |

I never hung out with anyone in my field. Anthro is full of dirty hippies and whiny espresso drinking fruitcakes. I always got hammered with the geeks. I was always down for some drunken lan gaming in the cs labs at 4 am. |

You make me feel better now. :) |

Actually, I am about a 1 1/2 years from a teaching credential ! |

you advocate violence, death for a cause, etc... what kind of PERSONAL experience you have on the subject? you sound more like a key board warrior with very LIMITED exposure to the true violance you advocate so much..... |
Quote:
Riiiight. I will forever just have to remain your keyboard warrior I guess. Quote:
Who doesnt? You watched the news lately? |
how did that famous quote go.... something like " the point of war is not to die for your country, but to make your enemy die for his"

So it is not about ideology. You want me to fess up to any violent acts I may have participated in? On GFY?
Riiiight. I will forever just have to remain your keyboard warrior I guess. *************************************** you don't have to fess up to something you never been exposed to... you ARE theoretician with no exposure to the subject of your "love" whatsoever... I haven't killed anybody, but I lived for 6 months in the same room with Palestinians, I can claim I was "exposed" and you can't... there is nothing wrong with being sheltered, don't get me wrong... |

Not everyone involved is an inbred hillbilly with a 6th grade education. Trust me. |

yes, I was, Soviet antisemites are socially/mentally close to white supremasists over here. you just raised my credentials a bit ;-0 c'mon, what so hard to admit it? I won't look down on you if you don't have personal exposure to the subject at hand... |
Serge
How much would it cost me for you to post on GFY with my SIG? I don't consider myself smart just lucky :winkwink: |

If I reveal my deep dark secret you will only berate me and make me feel bad. Goin on 20 hours now, this conversation now has a surreal quality to it. I remember you back on YNOT in 97, man your english was brutal back then if I remember right. You didnt use so many :))))) as you do now. Now I get to ask you a question. You were a click broker, you made your money, you left. Why did you come back? Surely you have better things to do with your time and money than to sit on a message board and argue with gallery kids. You were my second sponsor back then. Your shave was BRUTAL. The OVUVON shit never did figure out what the fuck you were talking about. |

and haven't done ANYTHING to cause that...yet. |

";-)))))" ;-) |

bullshit, my shave was exactly in LINE with shave ALL proggies used at that time...one should ALWAYS be competitive ;-))) as for UVOVUNS, they were a parody designed for MORONS who believed that 18 cents per click by Xpics were real... those souls saw no shave compared to Xpics ;-)) as for WHY am I back? I was only 42 when I retired, not the right age for retiree... there is MORE in life than travel around the world and collecting arts.. MIND needs CONSTANT stimulation, and that's where I get it, on adult webmasters boards ;-)) call me a "druggie" ;-)) nice try, BTW, to turn my questiuons into your questions, I don't mind, as long as we can stay with BOTH ;-))) |
and before one disputes "profilings",
didn't take much to see Labret even under different alias... things we carry on our backs from board to board ;-)) http://www.oprano.com/msgboard/index...T&f=1&t=455&s= |
