$5 paypal or epass to whoever can fix this.

Hello all,
I'm having a troublesome issue with internet explorer when it comes to alignment. My search bar and Iframes should be centered (and they are in Firefox) - but in IE they are aligned to the left. I'm sure it's a simple CSS problem, but I haven't a clue how to fix it.

I'd like to pay the person who fixes it because I couldn't find a solution on google for the past hour and a half. Please observe the dilemma here -
http://www.overduenudes.com/TESTct.shtml

Thank you for your time please respond to this thread or feel free to ICQ me - 465560445

Thanks.

I asked multiple forums with no money involved and no one would help.

Stab in the dark, free of charge so don't expect too much... Is the below the area having issues and if so, would wrapping "<td>...</td>" tags with some alignment values around the inputs help? Maybe putting the whole <form> inside the <tr><td>...</td></tr> with "margin: 0px; padding: 0px;" on the form also help?

Code:
 <tr><!--   -->
   <input name='search' type='text' size='10' Value='Big Boobs'>
   <input name='Search' type='submit' Value='Search'>
 </tr></form>
Anyway... good luck, man. Here's a bump for ya.

Why don't you use <td> tags around the input fields. I only see <tr>. I'd say use <td> and then add align="center" and voila you're done.

It would seem as though i've already done that. This is what the source code looks like -
Code:
<tr>
             <td class="center" align="center">{{include-searchbar.inc}}</td>
            </tr>
The searchbar is being pulled from another page, I believe that is the problem as the Iframes are also coming from somewhere else - and those are the only things with the alignment issues.

quick, simple fix ...
remove this part:
Code:
<table width=302 style='border: 0px solid black;' cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0>
 <tbody align="center"><form name='search' action='/ct/search.php' method='post'>
 <tr><!--   -->
   <input name='search' type='text' size='10' Value='Big Boobs'>
   <input name='Search' type='submit' Value='Search'>
 </tr></form>
 </tbody>
</table>
and replace it with this:

Code:
<form action='/ct/search.php' method='post' name='search' id="search">
<table width="302" style='border: 0px solid black;' cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
  <tr>
    <td align="center"><input name='search' type='text' size='10' value='Big Boobs' />
   <input name='Search' type='submit' value='Search' /></td>
  </tr>
</table>
</form>

The codes are not how I would make it, but this would probably work

Code:
<table width="69%" border="0" cellspacing="2" cellpadding="0" class="center">
            <tr>
             <td class="center" align="center">
<table width=302 style='border: 0px solid black;' cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0>
 <tr><td align="center"><form name='search' action='/ct/search.php' method='post'>

   <input name='search' type='text' size='10' Value='Big Boobs'>
   <input name='Search' type='submit' Value='Search'>
 </form>
 </td></tr>
</table></td>
            </tr>
          </table>

But that is not actually in my source - The only thing in my source that appears for the searchbar is -
Code:
<tr>
             <td class="center" align="center">{{include-searchbar.inc}}</td>
            </tr>

The .inc contains something along the lines of

Code:
<table width=302 style='border: 0px solid black;' cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0>
 <tbody align="center"><form name='search' action='/ct/search.php' method='post'>
 <tr><!--   -->
   <input name='search' type='text' size='10' Value='Big Boobs'>
   <input name='Search' type='submit' Value='Search'>
 </tr></form>
 </tbody>
</table>
Change that to

Code:
<table width=302 style='border: 0px solid black;' cellpadding=0 cellspacing=0>
 <tr><td align="center"><form name='search' action='/ct/search.php' method='post'>

   <input name='search' type='text' size='10' Value='Big Boobs'>
   <input name='Search' type='submit' Value='Search'>
 </form></td></tr>

</table>

do the templating on inclue-searchbar.com

basically just template it with the code i gave you above and PLEASE do not stick the form in the table but instead wrap the table in the form. it irks me when people stick a form IN a table.

after you have templated the searchbar template just call it without an surrounding stuff ... just basically stick {{include-searchbar.inc}} into your html page and you should be sorted.

how does it look, if you keep the .inc file free of all the table crap

Code:
<form name='search' action='/ct/search.php' method='post'>

   <input name='search' type='text' size='10' Value='Big Boobs'>
   <input name='Search' type='submit' Value='Search'>

Tried it, but the top images are still all out of wack, but the search bar IS centered. But now there seems to be a bigger problem.

It's internet explorer that is the nightmare. It looks so good in Firefox.

And I still have the IFRAMES that are off center, oh lord.

Form isn't in table anymore. In fact I don't even need tables in the searchbar.inc file.
I'm using this -
Code:
<form name='search' action='/ct/search.php' method='post'>
 <!-- {{manual}} {{archivepage}} -->
   <input name='search' type='text' size='10' Value='Big Boobs'>
   <input name='Search' type='submit' Value='Search'>
 </form>
It's centered now because of this in the source -
Code:
<tr>
             <td class="center" align="center">{{include-searchbar.inc}}</td>
            </tr>
BUT - now the top images are all messed up for I don't know why.

is that the correct way to do it? outsite the markup?

Code:
<form>
     <whatever html or css>
     </whatever html or css>
</form>
Asking this because I had no idea that was the correct way to do it

Yep congrats on originality. I'd thought it was an easy fix, apparently not so.

I'm still having issues, any help from anyone is appreciated.

dude.. it's a wreck. you might need to scle the thumbs down a bit and rebuild the code without the iframes and shit until you get it looking good in both IE and FF, then slowly introduce iframes one at a time and fix the problems as the arise before moving to the next step. Right now shits all out of whack all over the place. The thumbs are too big so it's forcing the tables open, and you're getting gaps in your design, and it would seem that you don't have the BG images stretching across the full tables in some areas (I haven't checked your source so I don't know for sure) and why are you iframing comus INTO the design, why not iframe the other shit into the comus template so the comus stamp is at the bottom of the page and not just in the middle?

I appreciate the help, but I'm having a really hard time figuring out what nearly all of that meant.

The only iframes on my site are the dating and webcam ads.
The only things that look bad to me in IE is the top unaligned images, and the uncentered dating and webcam ads.

I don't know what you mean by iframing comus into the design, I don't have a clue what that means how did I do that at the bottom??

You'll have to slow down for me I am 1/2 computer jargon illiterate.

Your site...

Looks like shit in firefox.

Make sense so far?

What you need to do is take your template or whatever html you are using and remove everything but the tables for the design.

Then you need to make sure that it looks good and does not break up in either FF or IE. With me?

You then need to add it into a comus blank template so that it can be run from comus. If you run it from comus, the "powered by" link will show up at the bottom of the page, and not in the middle of the page like it is now. So far so good?

Then slowly add elements into your template. Checking it each time in FF and IE so that nothing falls apart.

So first add the comus thumbs. Does it still hold together? If not, tweak it until it does.

Right now your thumbs are pushing beyond the design in FF on the right hand side.

Then after you get the thumbs sorted out proper. Move onto the iframes you mentioned. Adding one element at a time. It's the only way to learn it on your own and get an understanding of how each element works with the other elements.

Dig?

No. ON my firefox it looks damn near perfect. No thumbs are being pushed outside tables, and "Comus Thumbs Sites" is certainly not in the middle of the page."
Are you going here - http://www.overduenudes.com/TESTct.shtml

What version of Firefox are you using and what is your resolution?

I'll tkae some browsershots to see what the deal is.

Don't know what FF you're using. I can't stand my FF 3 on linux as it's slow as fuck, but his design's lining up just ducky on my end.

Dig?

Well for starters you likely will not be able to use just one style sheet for all 3 browsers, FF, IE 7 and IE 6 as they all handle content centering differently

"Coders" much like "designers" are easily bruised, and albeit sketchy folk. Twist the dials right and you get free shit from the "coder / designer" party as they like to one-up the other.

Well centering isn't so much the problem anymore, just the searchbar is making the top image slightly off key in IE only. Very strange I can't quite figure out why.
