I was there this summer. Nice town. Lots of nice resorts, but it depends on if you are going alone, with friends or family.

I am not going until April (week after easter) I am actually staying in Cancun for a week from the 18th-25th with a bunch of friends... but I am flying in on the 16th and think Playa would be nice to stay for Thursday and Friday night but I have no clue where to stay. I have been there for a day trip (5th avenue) and it was really cool.. I just wish I would of paid more attention to the hotels

Stayed there at one of the Riu resorts about 5 years ago. I think it was the Riu Yucatan... they all looked awesome though. It was all inclusive and they had 4 or 5 large liquor bottles always full in every room.
