    Just looked into getting one, the fees are insane.

    $500 a year for a resident
    $1000 a year for an outsider.

    anywhere cheaper to get one other than nic.tt?

              don't think so, I have single word juicy .ws domain, don't think it's worth more than $100, same with .tt

                                                                                                          It's not the only expensive extension. If I recall correctly, either .cr or .pr is $1,000/yr, and .tm is $150/yr but mandatory 10 year registration.

                                                                                                          As someone who used to focus on those funky extensions, it's DEFINITELY not worth it for those really expensive extensions, and honestly at this point I would probably never register anything in any ccTLD except the more mainstream ones like .cn, .co.uk, .de, .in, etc. Perhaps if you find a good deal for a porn.ext, sex.ext, etc. kind of name on the secondary market, then possibly worth it but nothing available for registration is, and the competition to get drops is too much now. I was into them when a really good high traffic drop in a funky extension would sit there for a week or two before being noticed...now there's fat chance of that.
