Some Virus I cant get rid off

Every time I load up Firefox I get redirects/popups to other sites, My virus checker does not pick it up and my popup blocker does not stop them, If I go to google I get a shit load of redirects, Iv tried clearing my browser cache and deleting all the cookies. This shit is driving me nuts, anybody know what it is or how to get rid of it ..please

Stop saying yes to install Antivirus 2009 when a website says you are infected.

Ok I have got rid of the stupid virus plus a load of others

I stoped using the PC Gaurd which comes with Vigin Media when you sign up to their internet service and went out a purchased Norton Internet Security for £24.95 ($37.00) and that got rid of it very quickly plus 15 other low security viruses which I had no idea was on my PC. I did not buy the antivirus that polish_aristocrat suggested as I did not know what other crap was on my computer and did not want to use my debit card online. I will never use Virgin Media's crappy PC Gaurd again...
