I am back from what turned out to be an amazing trip. Went to see the pyramids, snorkeling in the red sea and ate amazing food for a full 2 weeks. We stayed in El gouna as our base and went to tons of trips and excursions.

The pyramids and the museum in Cairo was amazing (after a crazy 6 hour bus ride) but I think my favourite was snorkeling by the corral reefs, it was like swimming in a massive aquarium, the abundance of fish and corall was mindblowing. Watch the movie finding nemo and you will get a good idea what I saw (minus the sharks).

I can recommend Egypt whole heartedly, so much to see and do!

Damn, I loved the place myself, I went there on a school trip when I was younger and I have always been planning to go back sometime, we stayed in the Shepherds Hotel an it was like stepping back into Colonial times.

As far as street vendors are concerned, Egyptians are very agressive and does not understand the word NO. I think they even beat Turkey when it comes to annoying, agressive and desperate street vendors.

So true. I had the same experience. They think because we are "white & rich" we wanna buy crappy things we don't need just because we could affort them. If you walk away or disregard them they'll call something in Arab behind your back......rude

My GF walks like 12 feet before me and this 15 year old boy approaches here and asks her; "Do you wanna fuck?".....rude but funny

But the hotels, weather, sights and diving are amazing
