The death of the two party system HAS to come. The only real candidates for ACTUAL change are libertarians. Ron Paul would've changed the US for the better, permanently and in long term growth and positive economic gains for everybody.
The people, if you really ask them...don't want this system to continue. With the help of the Internet and the ability to deliver information to the whole world, maybe we can educate the chunk of the country that actually elects people (the midwest, and Cali, Florida and New York). They think they're wasting votes voting for the indies and people in big cities don't even get them as a choice on the ballots. I haven't gotten a Libertarian candidate on a ballot in the last 3 elections.
It will take blood, disease, death in the streets, economic collapse and tides of death for the US to change for real and the money is so entrenched that I don't think the change will be for the better.
I think the US will end up an automated police state like London, Sydney, Belgium and Paris. No guns, thug cops, cameras everywhere, no privacy, no anonymity. Cash is heavily monitored, all Internet use automatedly controlled and monitored.
It may take 10 years, maybe even 15...but that's where it's going unless there's a revolution. Honestly, I don't know if Americans have the balls for a revolution any more. That's probably what feels the worst about the whole thing. Americans have no sense of self and there's too much infighting in the tribes, races and neighborhoods.
Southerners hate Yankees, the Blacks hate everybody, the Whites feel themselves getting squoze into minority status as all other races spawn in record numbers while whites face rising sterility and hundreds of thousands of dollars in fertility treatments, in vitro and more just to have 1 or 2 kids. Hispanics are gaining an incredible economic foothold in the US. As their population in the US has overtaken blacks and is now encroaching in the 20s% of the working, tax paying, Americans they are, things are changing. Asians are venturing out of their neighborhoods on the west coast and are just as American and capitalist as the rest of us. They work hard, study hard, are disciplines, responsible and family focused. Their ancient cultures have a lot to teach the rest of us, even if they can be a bit closed off and private.
But I digress...
