Is it legal to kill someone's cat if it comes on my property?

Would it be legal to kill that sob next time he comes around?

Find out where the cat lives and talk to the owner. If the owner claims that it's not their cat making the mess, then tell them you will put a bunch of rat poison in your trash and not to be pissed if their cat finds it and dies.

Kill, no.

However, it is legal to contact animal control and have them lend you a cage so that you can capture the cat. Once you capture him, call animal control and they will take him away. It will then be the owners responsibility to go to the animal shelter and claim his or her cat within 2 - 4 weeks or they will put the cat to sleep.

Seriously, Rubbermaid sells a can at Lowes/Home Depot with handles that come up and lock the lid. It's around $20 IIRC. Even keeps the raccoons out of mine. Bears.......not so much. If it figures out how to pop the lids get a chain and put it through the handles once they are over the lid. It's not rocket surgery ;)
