Selling with mp3 traffic - GoFuckYourself.com

Well, I've got a friend with a quite large mp3 searchengine (traffic is about 10-20k uniques per day).

He's doing quite well already, but he's always looking for ways to make more $$$... I'd like to know if there's anybody that has tried to feed a sponsor with this kind of traffic. I guess it's not that high quality traffic, probably lousier than TGP traffic, but if you have 10k+ uniques per day i guess it should be possible to sell a few per day?

What do you think?

Many surfers looking for MP3s don't have a credit card (too young) plus they are not searching for porn (untargeted traffic), furthermore 10K per day is not that much...

... this is probably why some advertisers pay up to a dollar per click on payed searchresults. (overture/epotting/findwhat/etc ...)

10k aren't that little... and even though it's untargeted traffic i believe that it would interest quite a few.. *sex sells*

and btw, how does celebrity sites convert?

But why not target it better. Adult is good, but it's not the super cash cow everybody seems to believe it is. I think with an MP3 site, he'd do better selling electronics like MP3 players, especially CD/MP3 players.

Hrm aren't the payouts extremely shitty on most tangible non-adult products though?

Totem Cash has an MP3 Dancer, that works with WinAmp and dances to the music.

Casino sites and Sports Books might work too.

Non Adult stuff, it all boils down to how you market it. I send a lot of my error and 404 traffic to a work at home directory I sell off line via papers and magazines, and you know what, it sells on line pretty well.

I used to run a decent sized mp3 link site. We had around 30k/uniques.
Mp3 Dancer was actually the sponsor that did best on that kind of traffic, but overall things are much better with pr0n traffic. ;)

We used an adult sponsor for a while but did not have much success at all. Another thing to keep in mind is that having adult sponsors on your mp3 site will disqualify you from lots of toplists and traffic trades.

Have your friend check out our Kitten Cash site for the affiliate program and I guarantee he will make money if he can send the clicks. Even just a tenth of his traffic could easily do 5-10 sales a day.
