Do you think that companies, large and small, are still practicing energy efficiency methods that they adopted over the spring and summer?
For example, at one point UPS adopted a "right turn only" policy. Basically they figured out that if they designed their routes so that the driver only makes right turns as opposed to left turns, it saves time waiting at crossroads and stoplights, which saves money. The airlines have also been implementing various methods over the years... carrying less washroom water, carrying less food, stripping paint from the airplane, adding extra fins to the wings, changing their flight patterns to correlate with the wind patterns, etc.
I still try to combine all of my trips.
