:tongue Question for coders/programmers

I am doing some pricing on a custom cms script for a new site and have a pretty good idea of what I want and how it's laid out.

My question is - How much would it cost for something like www.MetroMix.com? Round about figure

I'd also rather not go with outsourcing since it's been nothing but problems in the past.

where's the information being pulled from? A feed, or does there need to be something to hand enter/edit entries? Looks like a Drupal job

It would be manually entered from reviewers and employees. I just want something that can handle everything from the advertising side to all of the content. Will also be using users reviews, pictures and more.

If the backend admin is already in place, and it's just pulling stuff from a db and displaying it, it's not multi-thousands.

I can't take on any work atm, but hit me up to discuss further to get an idea what ballpark you should be aiming for with a competent programmer.

Well there is nothing in place as of yet. I'm building a plan and getting ideas on how much it's going to cost me out of pocket to get this beast up and running so that I can begin to close some deals I have been working on.

So, the backend and full CMS would be built from the ground up. If there is another way or script out there I can use, I would be interested in looking into that as well. I can handle the graphic design portion and data but I am not good at coding.

Have a look at Joomla (easy) or Drupal (bit trickier, but more powerful and easy to add on to) - these two CMS solutions are right up your street for this, with a bit of customisation to perhaps tweak things to exactly the way you want.

Far far less expensive than a custom-built CMS (5k+)

Drupal, Joomla or any number of CMSes could handle the job, but even then it would still be a lot of work. Complete site, custom coded from scratch you're probably looking at a nice amount of change.

I can point you in the right direction if you want someone to give you an actual development quote.

Hi, I tried looking around to find an ICQ # so that we could talk about it but was unable to find it, even after scouring through your posts on different threads :P

We have a mainstream wing that can develop this. In fact, we're developing something similar for ourselves.

Please hit me up via ICQ, email, Skype, or phone if you want to talk more about what we can do for you.
