"Starving Artists"

In my early twenties I was successful as an artist and made more money than any of my friends.

Now over a decade later I am a full time adult webmaster with some mainstream on the side, and had the urge to dip back into my artsy stuff.

I cannot believe how there is this huge movement of "starving artists" on the internet all practically begging people to buy their little hand made items! It is amazing, and yet depressing.

I was having a discussion with a bunch of women on another mainstream board, and they all tell me their gigs are going great, and then I click to their pages and see them selling items that are like $2 and $5.

I love being creative, but I am pretty much only making things to give away as gifts these days. It is too difficult trying to compete with all these stay at home mom's knitting beanies for $6.

I love being an adult webmaster, waaaayy better than being a "starving artist." haha

I bet I'm not the only one here like this.
