JOHN LENNON WAS KILLED ON 12/8/80. TODAY Is 12/8/08.

Like Kennedy, the only way he is "remembered" is that he was shot.

I remember him for how he won his citizenship case, had his birthday, and how his wife had his first baby boy all on the same day. Oh and his music. And round glasses.

I only remember the man and his music. The fact that some fanatic wanted to steal his fame by killing him senselessly for no reason... I rent no space in my soul for him.

R.I.P. John Lennon! I remember the day you died, was one of the saddest days of humanity.

I wonder if the Beatles would ever have done a come back tour and album.. It's very trendy to re-group and tour.. Nostalgia is a huuuuge market!

You have no idea how his music and fearless words changed the world in the 60's and 70's and even today. He stood up against everything and led a nation and tried to lead the world to PEACE. When was the last time anyone has tried and succeeded in changing the world? John Lennon rocked.

John Lennons words changed the world in so many ways. He was a great artist and lived in a very important time in America and the world. His thoughts will be remembered forever in his songs. RIP John.

ONE of my favorite clips. https://youtube.com/watch?v=KEBGh--ibVA

there are millions of bands in the world and millions of songs but its funny how people talk about how they remember the first time they heard the beatles. That is want makes John, Paul, George, and Ringo so important and why this tragic loss 28 years ago is still a day people will never forget.

for me I was five it I was with my Dad in his work truck and "here comes the sun" came on the radio and I remember that as the first moment I felt passionate about anything and that was music and all I did for the next days and weeks was bug my parents everyday to buy me more and more albums.

He was obviously a good musician but he helped promote and provided moral support to ideologies which murdered millions of people.

Another one.

I challenge you to show me a musician/group today that will leave a mark on the history of modern music. Sad thing is you wont because it is pretty much all a rehashed, cookie cutter, corporate driven monstrosity that is lacking in originality and meaning. There are some exceptions out there but will never reach the levels of The Beatles.

I was 2 years old when he got shot and even I miss the guy. Although, to be perfectly honest I'd much rather Jimi Hendrix were still alive.

He was shot outside his apartment building as I recall the name of the building was called the Dakota Apartments.... I stood in Dealey Plaza in Dallas on the side walk and looked at the X on the road where Kennedy took the bullet from the grassy knoll. I know Erie a feeling that is, almost surreal, I'm sure you might experience the same feeling in front of the building where John Lennon was shot... He did change things, his song Imagine was and still is a brilliant piece of work......

What people are saying is that he changed the world, he may have influenced a lot of music and changed the way a lot of music is made but he did not change the world. If Lennon was never born how would the world be different today?

I watched a documentary of shorts where a black rapper said he was considered a God in that Continent, that Continent was Africa and the rapper was Snoop Dog. Has this clown influenced music positively or changed the world for the better with his lyrics, I seriously doubt it. All this idiot has managed to do is get bust a lot for MJ possession. I think the world would be a better place with out the likes of him , again

December 08 also marks another sad day in history of music. You're all fucking fags so you may not know the guy, but Dimebag Darrel was one of the greatest guitarists of all time. He was shot dead on December 08, 2004.

I was well aware of that, but then, I'm not a fag.

Dime was fucking amazing. Shit, Nickelbag even wrote a song about his death (Side of a Bullet).

No musician has changed the world thats the point. Snoop dogg to those who like that kind of music will enjoy it just as much as you enjoyed Lennons music. Why bring snoop doggs drug use in to it, like Lennon didnt get off his face all the time?

Mccartney is a greater musician than Lennon ever was. In 5 years time from now Noel Gallagher will of achieved more also. Lennon is overhyped which always tends to happen when people die.
