Vid, you should really consider upgrading. Your running CS2 in Rosetta because its only compiled for the older PowerPC chips. This is probably the root of your stability issues in CS2. Anothing thing you can try is trashing the Photoshop prefs.

English ?? lol

seems like CS2 is crashing when i browse thru my fonts .. I might have a Windows font in there by mistake .. don't know for sure .. but both times it seemed to be when i was browsing thru the fonts

use mac and pc, get the job done, thats what matters.

Im a mac lover, and i have at least 4 pcs in the home...i am about to throw away an old blue imac that dont work LOL

Well said FletchXXX!

We have 10 PCs and 3 MacBook Pros here all coexisting happily and getting the job done! The Macs are really amazing for Logic Studio which we use in our Recording Studio. The PCs are great for just about everything else primarily because we are used to using them.

Muti-tasking with the PC and Mac side by side is super efficient! :thumbsup

On my Hackintosh now. Couldn't be happier. It was cheaper than an iMac and outperforms all but the most maxed MacPros. :)

In English: you are using software that is 4 years old. It was written for PowerPC processors. You are now running an Intel processor. CS3 and CS4 will run natively on OSX, CS2 has to use a 'emulation' aspect of OSX called Rosetta.

you hate mac because u cant use it properly grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

bronco67 12-10-2008 05:51 AM

I'm a PC bitches!!!

Been doing 3D animation for almost 13 years on a PC, and the graphics look just as good.

I've heard that although Photoshop started on the Mac, it's the least stable version now. For the last 10 years, I can't remember the last time it crashed on my PC.

They screwed up the Mac code somewhere along the way. It might be those Intel processors....

Yeah, I hate my Mac's too. Specially the AirBook with solid-state drive. This shit runs like desktop and tiny as spam magazines I get in mailbox. Shame.

What bullshit.

Citation needed.

And why would the fact Macs now use the same chips as most windows boxes "screw up the code"?

Arguing about OSs or Consoles is fucking pointless, but if you are going to make some point, at least make sure you know what you are talking about. Your post is like saying 'Macs only have one mouse button!!!!!!'. ie Pointless and wrong.

I only paid about $3k for my MacPro. But the Hackintosh cost me $699 and runs circles around the Mac.

I love my Apple laptops and iMacs, but will never purchase another Apple desktop.

I know several Mac Photoshop users who complain about constant crashing.

My PC version hasn't crashed in a decade. Fact.

Not saying PC is better, it's just that the Mac version's compatibility with certain hardware has become tainted.

According to your two pals?

Actually got any evidence to support this claim?

The thing that makes macs unique is that Apple control the software AND the hardware thus making sure 'compatibility with certain hardware' is never a problem. This is the real advantage Apple has over Windows. Apple software has to run on one piece of hardware. Windows apps have to be written to run on any number of different hardware set ups.

Be interested in reading any online articles you have detailing this supposed 'compatibilty' issue CS has with OSX.
