    Who Started Paying Models These Ridiculous Rates?!

    Let me start out by saying I do alot more print work then web work. Models are lucky to get paid for alot of print work but do it for tearsheets and exposure.. The website I shoot for, the model is paid on a percentage basis. Was looking into getting some rather well known models for Playboy styled solo work and the prices they wanted were insane, near $1k for 3-4 sets and vids that would take no more than an hour to shoot. Then other girls I know wanting $1k for g/g and $1500 for b/g scenes....give me a fucking break.

    In case these dumb whores havent noticed, we are in a recession right now. They should be more than thankful for $300 an hour while the average American makes $9 an hour doing actual WORK. But these girls scoff at anything under $600. I think its about time those of you who pay that kind of money say enough! Take $300, get naked or get the fuck out and I will find another hot college girl in need of money who will. I have a feeling the prices would start coming way down if people started doing that. There is FAR more supply than demand and it will only get worse.

                  I have a good friend who doesn't even pay the models. They just shoot with him cuz he get his stuff into Maxim, Stuff, FHM etc. He then sells the layout for anywhere between $10k - 30K per magazine, depending on who the model is.

                          The reason these girls charge so much is because others can afford to pay it. You can't so stop moaning. The guys who can afford the best will pay for it and price you out of the market for the best.

                          That's what many of you guys understand when it comes to content. The content is what SELLS the site, magazine, DVD again and again and again. The content is a mix part of which is the model, so if you want the best models be prepared to spend money because others will.

                          And it's always been the same in the 30 years I've been in the business. Stop dreaming of a level playing field when it's clearly not level at all.

                                              Models also have to diet, work out, buy outfits, buy makeup, maintain hair, maintain nails, etc. Then it is a lot more work posing in from of crazy hot lights for hours on end than many think.

                                                  Most "models" these days rarely work out. I would say maybe 20% of the girls I have worked with do. Alot freely admit they never work out. Most paying jobs provide hair, makeup and wardrobe for shoots as well. So that leaves what? maintaining nails? Sure, thats worth $800 an hour right?

                                                      They are selling a part of their lives. Once shot you own those images/video forever. You can sell them countless times or distribute them locally. People will find out, see them doing things most would not find acceptable. It also can hinder future employment or even get someone fired when it does come out. They are not selling an hour, they are selling forever.

                                                      Not to nitpick either yet have to ask. Since your in SoCal, how much are you paying your hair and makeup person for their less than an hours work? You also let the models keep the panties and lingerie? What about toys?

                                                      I am all for paying as little as possible. I own a business and it makes sense. I still want quality and that is why I would never shoot out of SoCal when other areas are much more affordable. I just would not be throwing a fit bitching about it. If one model will not take X you can just say OK thanks and ask the next.

                                                                  The rates started going up when the internet companies started to shoot in socal and paid what ever rates they were quoted instead of trying to work them down on the rates. I know Naughty America was the leader of the pack when it came to this.

                                                                                                                      you ar paying a premium for the girls name, having content featuring a famous pornstar is more valuable then just a hot girl because a site can grab a portion of the search engine traffic looking for that particular girl.

                                                                                                                      If your customers are not interested in paying the premium for that portion of traffic, hire the no name girls, most will do it cheaper since there is no one else who will hire them at those higher prices.

                                                                                                                      Supply and demand is a wonderful thing.

With everyone shooting models are in more demand, even though the profit margin is shrinking. Factor that you piggybacking off of their "name" and paying the price for the branding & name recognition; you can't be worried about the prices.

                                                                                                                                                      If you can't pay the price maybe you shouldn't be playing the game to begin with. It's a business and not a charity. If there were less people shooting, prices would come down.

(They have some risks invloved and perhaps deserve the combat pay)

                                                                                                                                                          But, as a content guy I have come up against a wall.

                                                                                                                                                          Other content producers who do inferior work with cheap cameras, shitty lighting, deadwood and ugly (cheap) girls are charging pennies on the dollar these days and getting work 'cause quality has gone out the window.


                                                                                                                                                          Of course Bang can afford to pay the girls whatever they want and they do, as an independant shooter I am under contract for a set amount.
                                                                                                                                                          My issue comes when it's not in the budget to pay the models high ass rates and I can't even do a shoot so we all loose money. The girls/agents still want huge dollars per scene no matter what my budget is for a shoot.



                                                                                                                                                          I recently tried to get some new clients as I had some free time to fill up in a day, when I was told what they wanted to pay me for content and what they are supposedly paying for exclusive content I found that I cannot compete as I pay the girls more than the new clients wanted to pay me for the entire scenes.......... CATCH 19!!!!!
