Then I must be smoking crack by the kilo.

I smoke very little. Just enough to induce that hallucinogenic effect.

You don't want to see it then don't look.

You're right, when I'm scrolling through a thread it should be very easy for me not to notice a guy with his lips wrapped around another guys dick. I *should* just ignore it. What was I thinking?

I thought that was the point of a sig?
Is he telling you to go there? Is he twisting your arm? Didn't think so.
Change your sig, I'm tired of it always in my face.Stop pushing your fucking views on me.

It isn't gonna happen.

Put down the crack pipe, when was the last time you either bought a profitable program or spend 4 million bucks?

I wouldnt give someone more than 3 months and you know what? We are buying.

Anyway to the topic at had - If you are talking about buying a web property, I've generally seen stuff go for 16 - 24 months net plus 10-15%. But numbers vary VERY widely even today.

I would jump all over a deal like that (as a seller), as I am sure most in this industry would. For that kind of cash, sell and start all over again. Rebuilding to that level within 16-24 months plus some (breakeven) shouldn't be a problem for anyone.

Sunshine McGillicutty 11-10-2002 01:18 AM

16-24 months?

In 2002 internet time thats like cretaceous period --> now.

dickblast 11-10-2002 01:21 AM

I am detecting some homophobia around here.

XXXPaysitedesign became insecure about his sexual preference when he got a hard one after seeing one of Archer's "artistic" homosexual illustrations.

Are you a homophob? Is his sig going to make you gay? Is your manhood that fragile?

MarkTiarra 11-10-2002 12:58 PM

You're right. That is why I said 'generally.' SOme sites have internally generated traffic, some have a webmaster program, etc... Many factors contribute, but without the fellow making the post decribing what it is he's looking to buy or sell I can only speak in broad (no pun intended if anyone even gets that!) generalities. =]

I'm pretty sure he's talking about adult sites. So if Joe Blow's little porn site with 1000 members makes a net of $10,000 a month, you would pay $276,000 for it ? hmmmm

:1orglaugh

IMO, each site and program is unique and you can't use a ratio such as net time x months to value it. For instance, a webmaster program would be worth more than a single, self promote paysite because the site doesn't depend on that one person for its member base.

archer 11-10-2002 02:32 PM

you're right marktiarra. i tried to be a general as possible because i'm curious as to what $4 million would get me in the adult market. I know there's a lot of variables i.e. amount of original content, membership base, affiliate program, etc.

To my mind it should buy one helluva site/group of sites.
