I was eating deer a couple years ago for the first time and didn't know that wild meat is some of the toughest flesh to put in your body, harder to digest. I actually had health issues because I ate too much deer sausage and almost had internal injuries during the digestion process. Overload. We helped make over 100 pounds of deer sausage with the family, and then ended up going veg after. Make sure you eat some salad with your deer! :1orglaugh |
Jesus fuck the cry babies in this thread is just redcockulus

Since it isn't just about walking around, seeing the deer, shooting it and game over.. he is proud of his kill, his hunt, and he should be. It's a damn nice deer. Better than any I have ever taken down. Now he will use a skill to clean the deer, get rid of the bad parts, maybe sell others, and cook and freeze the good parts. A great skill to have and different across all animals. |

im no hunter. ive got an ar15 in 223 and had no idea that a 7mm was a more kick bullet. im on the fence buying a socom in 308 just for the larger rounds. all though im not going to lie, id really hate to be plugged by a 223. |

Of course it's to boast. duh I spent a lot of time and effort and want to remember it. and you are very very wrong, not anyone with a camo and a rifle can shoot a big buck like this. Some people hunt for years and years and never get a buck. Like I said, bucks are smart, very smart. and very difficult to get close to. If you think it's so easy, come here and try it. I bet you 50k you can't do it. I'll even buy you a plane ticket and give you some camo and let you have your choice of any of my rifles. I bet you couldn't even bag a doe. 50k, put your money where your mouth is or shut the fuck up. |
Killing a deer with a rifle from 150 yards is so manly of you....
If you absolutely have to kill it why not do it fairly. Like walk right upto it with a bat and try then, see how long you last without your oh so big and powerful gun Pussy |
I'm kinda torn because I LOVE deer sausages and deer steak.. maybe it's because of the way people think they are so tough walking around with a gun. Oh well...

but yah a 7mm Remington mag is probably the fastest factory round out there. The faster the bullet reaches the target the less time gravity has to pull it down and drop. any bullet, as soon as it leaves the barrel, gravity is pulling it down (32' per sec squared) in theory, if i shot this round perfectly horizontal and also dropped another bullet just like it next to me at the same time, they would both hit the ground at the same time. The forward speed does not affect the downward speed (gravity) so the faster the bullet the more accurate you can shoot and the less drop you have to compensate for. plus a side affect of this is that it also knocks the hell out of what your shooting. a 7mm mag can kill anything in North America. |

Ill come^^ People who never hunt do not realize that its difficult. Yea you can trap and do some stupid crap and cheat the system but if you are hunting legit, it could take you more than 20 years to see your FIRST buck in the woods while you have a rifle- not during the summer when they can practically eat out of your hand. smart animals |
I like these guys coming in and bashing you BV lol.. They'll bash you here on gfy and then go eat a fat cheese burger.. I'm no hunter, but I can't say shit because I eat meat pretty much daily.

Uhhhmmm.. cruel!

in fact my best hunting buddy is retired from the navy and marine corps. been shot several times and has a purple heart he lives to hunt so i doubt your army time has anything to do with your inability to enjoy hunting :2 cents: |

do you know how stealth you have to be to even see one? camo does not make you invisible, they can see and hear movement hundreds of yards away, they can smell you a mile away if the wind is right you idiots have no idea besides, if i killed it with a bat he would suffer a long time wouldn't that be more in-humane? this deer was dead in a few seconds most of the time when i get a good head shot they are dead before they hit the ground that's about as humane as it gets. BTW, here he is getting processed, he'll hang for a few days to let all the blood drip, then i'll have some of him cube steak-ed and the rest ground into hamburger :thumbsup See his nuts? You need to grow some like it you pussy! :2 cents: http://shootersblog.com/bucks/buck1-processing.jpg |

I used to be the same way about animal hunting and killing. Until this year when i went to see my sister out in the forest (she has a farm in the west coast of BC). And i saw first hand what it requires to live and actually survive from nature directly.
As long as the animal is not wasted, then i see it ok to hunt. I even find it a bit hypocritical of people who might say something but at the same time eat meat from a supermarket - have you ever seen any documentary on the treatment of animals at killing mills? at least the Deer was in his natural habitat and went quickly and painless. |
Poor animal, why did you do that? Just for fun?

How scary! That deers' eyes look horrible!
|
He didn't shoot it to feel like a "tough guy". He did it because it's a sport, like fishing. It takes patience, skill (a real target shooting range), and if done with others, creates quality time.
I've never hunted but if one is going to enjoy the hunt and eat the meat and not cause the game to go extinct, go for it. People look at the blood and the carcass of the deer and "feel" for it. This could only happen in modern Western societies where what is on your breakfast table and how it got there is so far removed from your daily experience that you think it's fundamentally different to shooting a deer for food. That piece of bacon you just ate was part of a living breathing pig, ditto for the chicken, beef, and fish that you eat without thinking twice. They suffered bloody deaths too. I don't know much about hunting or hunting deer. The idea that it's done to control deer population has always sounded to me like a made-up reason to justify something that needs no justification other than it's a sport with a tasty reward. |
I have to say, I'm not used to looking at hanging bloody carcasses of animals, but this is because I live a sanitized life like many of my fellow meat eaters. The beef I'm having tonight was part of a cow that was beheaded and its body cut off into pieces, its skin ripped off its body, its blood drained. The whole kit and kaboodle.

Nobody believed him until we saw his first kill with nothing but a stab wound through the throat, seperate from where he cut it's throat and drained it. There was another big gash in the abdomen where he stabbed it a second time as it was turning around to run. He said he had to chase it for a while, but it finally dropped. After that a few other guys from his unit got into it and I'd guess they still do it. That's something I'd love to see a tape of. I've got no beef shooting deer vs. bows or even knives. We created the technology, we get to use it to be lazy killers. |
So what had you put in the grass to get them there. I am guess Doe piss. Or molasses?? Which one???
Yeah nothing like BAITING them... |
Nice pics, congrats! :)

I doubt you'd get the chance to even raise the bat above your waist before the deer took off or kicked the shit out of you, let alone kill it with it. The fact is that would be the fair way to go about it, the deer would stand a chance. Truth is you're a dumbass who thinks people will be impressed by you killing an innocent animal. |
I probably wouldn't be able to pull the trigger, and I am pretty sure I would have nightmares if I did.
