It tells me Pasadena but it's still right on. I'm 40+ miles away ... my isp gives me an ip on their network there. If you had a dedicated ip it would be right on the money not like I know anything just guessing , if your isp is in your town

Why not pay the $12/month for the more accurate DB?
Because I just want a basic idea of where my visitors are coming from, I'm not gonna pay monthy for that, especially when I can get it free via Google Analytics. I just don't feel like writing a program that logs into Analytics and grabs all that info and matches it against my own personal database.

Ok, makes sense. I thought you were trying to do something in real-time. Looks like you're getting some fairly accurate results, for the most part.

It does all that geoip stuff via simple free webservices, with its own analyics program that incorporates heatclick maps and pdf/rss feeds you can program to send you each day/week whenever.
