Do you know that we in holland use 112 for emergency calls.

Kudles 12-01-2008 02:00 PM

Yes I have when a drugged out lady was swerving on the freeway

Vicious_B 12-01-2008 02:03 PM

Damn where do I start:

- When my son at 2 years old decided to climb out his window and take a walk during nap time
- When my crazy (and I mean that literally) ex neighbor got in a fist fight on my front porch. She also trashed the cop car and tried to call me collect from the jail 15 times before I had the number blocked
- 10 years ago when I got home at 5am from work and noticed my downstairs sliding glass door open
- 10 years ago at the same apartment when my then boyfriends ex game to his house and smashed out his house windows and truck windows while their son was in the house. He was afraid that they were heading to my place next. I called the cops and went and got my sons little league bat.
- 6 months ago when I pulled up in my driveway and saw 2 people running through my backyard
- Saturday night to help a kid broken down on the side of the road
- About 30 times over the 10 years I bartended when we had idiots fighting in the bar.
- Another time driving home from work at 430 am and saw a drunk guy walking down the center yellow line so he wouldnt get hit by a car.

There are more but I dont want to bore anyone

Antonio 12-01-2008 02:20 PM

- first time for armed robbery, 2-3 shots were fired
- second time armed robbery of a supermarket, robbers came out running and firing madly
- third time the lesbian next door trying to slit her wrists

all 3 times while in South Africa

Always learn your local police departments phone number, and program it into your phone(s).

So many of the things people call 911 for are so beneath the minimum standard of "emergency"... 911 is NOT "the same as" calling the police.

Who's got the link to the idiot calling 911 to complain about his Burger King sandwich? Or the one of John McCains brother Joe callin 911 to ask about traffic?

Just remember: someone is DYING while you call 911, so make sure you are too (hmm that didnt come out right did it? lmfao!)

I've got the winner:

I was dating a cop from my area, and he was on duty one night. I really wanted to get laid, so I called 911 and hung up. By law they have to send an officer to investigate. Guess who came! and guess how long it took him to "investigate" haha!

First time:
Was 8 years old, threw a dart and hit my cousin in the forehead. Called 911 and hung up cus he was okay. Almost got in trouble for it.

Second time:
Saw about 3 or 4 people around something that looked like a little girl in the street and a car on the side of the road. Called 911... turned out that someone hit a dog. (seriously)

Third time:
Had a massive neurological attack due to a health problem, got to take a ride in the ambulance.

Fourth time:
Repeat of third time.

Oddly enough I called 911 last night at 2am when there was some kind of a fight at my neighbor's house. They seem to have a lot of people who live in the house, including a 18 year old and his girlfriend, a 15 year old, a nine year old, and the parents. I woke up at 2am to them screaming at each other outside on their doorstep; One person went out and smacked one of the cars setting off the car alarm.

The eighteen year old is a piece of work. He was hurt when he was a kid, broke his jaw, and recently came into a lot of money from a lawsuit - lots of money. Just bought him a shiny BMW. He was involved with some kind of drama a few months ago where he was kidnapped at gun point, put into a car, and he bailed out on the freeway. ( I swear I live in a nice area.)

So last night the cops show up, and it turns out they were looking for this kid anyhow so they took him away in handcuffs.

what was that brother thinking

He was skitzophreniac (not sure about spelling) and was off his meds, his parents where both very reputable lawyers getting a nasty divorce as his dad was leaving for his personal assistant.

As I recall, Zolt said later at the cops station he saw a big dragon and at some other point he wanted to free his mom from his dad.

What's fucked up is he got 5 years in mental institute and was reinstated in society on a close watch after.

Always wondered if the dad didn't have anything to do with it as I'm not sure all her personal insurance was transfered from him.

Seeing a knife in a puddle of blood and a women dying in front of her own children is something I do not wish to see ever again.

Never had to

potter 12-01-2008 04:40 PM

Three times.

1. Driving from Chicago to Denver, there was a guy driving the wrong way on the highway. There were four cars grouped by me, all of which were in the right lane. If any of them had been in the left it would have been a lot of dead people.

2. Downed electrical wire flying all around on the side of the road spitting up sparks n shit.

3. Drunk driver flying down the street at like 3am. Swerving all over the four lanes of road on both sides. Front passenger tire was GONE and sparks were flying up in the air about fifteen feet from him driving on the rim.

Had to call the police tons and tons of times as well. Nothing that was an "emergency" though. Just a bunch of "heads ups".

Saw this fat chick, already on crutches, get hit by a car in an intersection.

About 5 years ago in the middle of winter some loudmouthed shnook came banging on my front door at 3 o'clock in the morning, yelling, swearing etc. By the time I got to the door he was at my next door neighbor's house doing the same thing, pounding the hell out of their door. I went out, grabbed him and tossed him over a snowbank. His loud drunken mouth was waking up the whole neighborhood, going on and on about some voices he thought he heard.

I had the phone with me and told him if he didn't shut up and move on I would call the cops. Of course he wouldn't shut up and move on, so yup okay then, I hit 9-1-1. They didn't come of course, he would have had to be visibly armed and waving a weapon around, or killing someone before they'll do anything, but as soon as he saw I was calling he began moving off down the road.... running his loud yelling yapping drunken mouth the whole way.

Felt good tossing him over that snowbank though.

Just had to this weekend - shouldn't have had to, but did.
I was in a parking garage and the gate to let people out stopped working.
The employees working there just played with the computer for about 20 minutes, and when that didn't work just sat there. I asked them to just lift up on the gate and they said - no they can't do that because there are cameras. I asked what they planned on doing and the plan seemed to be to just keep playing with the computer. There were a lot of people screaming at this point and I said they better figure out the emergency override or I will call the police to do it for them. Still nothing. I called information to connect me to the non emergency number for the police and informed them of the situation. Their reply was that I should call 911. Seemed a little odd to me - I didn't believe anyone was in danger at this point, and didn't believe 911 should be used for this situation. However, with instructions from the police on the non emergency number and nobody from the parking garage willing to do anything I called 911.
As I was giving the address to the dispatcher the employees decided maybe it would be a good idea to call a manager who was apparently 1 block away in another garage. I informed the dispatcher they now were at least trying to get someone over to fix the situation. The dispatcher asked if a car should be dispatched or if I wanted to wait to see if someone actually showed up. I agreed to give them some time to get the manager. The dispatcher told me to call back if they still couldn't get the gate up. I agreed and hung up. Gate was openned about 30 min after start of the malfunction.

Note: this was at 2AM
People were not happy
