Probilling loses merchant account? are they finished? what do you think!

Here is an email i got from them:

"Dear Valued Client,

Due to an unforeseeable issue with our processing account proBilling will be unable to process Visa or Mastercard deposits on behalf of our clients for approximately 24 hours. 900 billing and EFT transactions will be unaffected.

Transactions and rebills will temporarily be unavailable while our IT team activates our backup credit card merchant account.

We will be working around the clock and expect this issue will be rectified in about 24 hours. On behalf of proBilling I would like to apologize for this inconvenience and would like to assure our account holders that this is an isolated incident.

Makes me a little glad i didnt actually get up and running with them as of yet. Maybe i will stick with CCBill and not take VISA cards. Hopefully they will stay afloat and make some be able to process for a while on the backup merchant account.

It wasnt that so much that as they were using a bunk offshore merchant account.

Beast and KP processing is safe with many other processors.

I think ProBilling will have to come here and explain what's going on or they are going to lose a lot of business...I still see their ad button at the bottom of GFY

That is probably why VISA is cracking down on this

Visa doesn't dole out merchant accounts. You set them up with your bank/s.

No wonder there was such a flurry when Visa tugged the strings. Half the people don't have a basic understanding of how all of this works.

While you do set up a merchant account thru a bank, the bank still has to follow Visa rules for their region, otherwise they lose the right to issue accounts and/or cards.

With the Tier 1 capital requirement going to 100 million dollars, many of the small banks that have processed high risk in the past will no longer be eligible to do so.

Visa can, and does, tell banks to stop processing for certain sites, and when they do that, there is no crossing them.

Bugger, my account is with probilling and I have been saying really positive things about them and now.....I am on the hunt for a new billing solution.

I need to get some advice on a good affiliate tracking and userid/password management software. I might as well get off my butt and get this set up so that I can start offering multi-billing solutions to my surfers.

Any suggestions?

Cheers,

Luke

You always seem to hang around in these kind of threads...as
soon as there is a rumour or some gossip you seem to step in
to try to get a few crumbs that fell of the table....I don´t know
you or your company.....but I have to say it´s an annoying
marketing strategy.....and I doubt if it´s a good one...

Just my opinion....

Opinions are like assholes everybodys got one.
My 2 cents is that Mitch has been hanging around to help people out since hes been telling yall that this was coming for a year.

I use Netbilling and have found them to be professional and helpful on several projects.

If you dont know then you might not wanna say anything.
Opening your mouth removes all doubt.

Just my 2 cents worth as well...

Hey Dynamite.. cut Mitch a little slack. I've actually had a chance to spend some time with him (at YP2002.5 and AWE-LA) and he's a nice guy. In fact, I think we're opening up a NetBilling account because he's got a pretty good solution. I think the reason he's aggressive like that is that few people really know what kind of services he provides. It might be better for him to take it offline but people, if you're processing $10,000+/month, it's definitely worth it to take a look at what they offer.

Third party processors no longer provide the "protection" and services they used to. I think the trend is to take control (and responsibility) for your own operations.

Hi,

Big E, Gonzo, & XXX_Jman- Thanks for the praise. I could not agree more :-)
Some call it spam, some call it self promotion. Many do not know about the great alternative solutions that we provide. We work hard to get clients and make them very, very happy.

Have a great weekend everyone....

Agreed. The fact that you can't contact anyone directly from the board here (you've got to rely on signatures and/or public messages) means you've got to cut some people some slack.

Hey Mitch,

Good to see you are still around. Keep doing what youre doing. If these people wanna continue paying 10-15% to 3rd party billing companies in exchange for weekly checks and no protection then they need a brick thrown at their head. Wake up people......3rd party billing is no longer absorbing chargebacks. YOU ARE NOW HELD RESPONSIBLE! I dare anyone to give Netbilling a chance to demo their system to ya. In my observations they have always been willing to put their script where their mouth is. Money too cuz its obviously not a cheap script. No i am not on Netbilling's payroll, i just have common sense. Mitch runs an honest shop. Just give em a try. not much convincing necessary.

Late!

P.S. Mitch tell Karen i will be in touch very soon!!

Mitch, thanks for your offer, but to use your services I would still need to set up my own merchant account and affiliate program.

Right now I kinda need two things:
1) an immediate solution to probilling still being down (I just finished signing up with PSW Billing)
2) a long term solution where I use my own affiliate software and merchant account. I think netbilling comes in here but I still need affiliate software.

Can anyone suggest good affiliate software?

Cheers,

Luke

Chilihost,

We can help you establish the m,erchant account. There are several affilaite programs that work great with our system. Pornbroker mentioned 2 of them and MAP2 will be done in about a week. Clickman will also work and others.

---------------

Tornado,

Looking forward to working with you. I will let Karen know.

---------------

BigE,

Let me know whatever you need to get rolling.

chilihost,

Affiliatetracking.net is about $50 per month and works great with our system.
